AMD G-Series based iBase SI-08 Digital Signage

Ibase announced the SI-08, a digital signage player with an AMD G-Series processor and a DVI output. The device features a 1.6GHz dual-core T56N processor, up to 2GB of RAM and 1TB of disk storage, gigabit Ethernet,  a serial port, 2 USB port, an audio jack (in or out) as well as a Mini PCI slot for optional Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

The SI-08 is very similar to the iBase SI-18 unveiled in March 2011, except for the mother board, the operating  temprature (0 to 40 °C vs 0 to 45°C) and the obvious casing difference. I’m not very sure why they made this kind of casing.  One reason could be that the whole thing could be a heat-sink used to get rid of the fan inside the casing (which may be present inside the SI-18).
