    whats so special about this board why is it soo expensive

    It’s partly because of the Xilinx SoC that comes with an FPGA. The SoC alone costs at least $60.
    This board is actually cheaper than other similar Xilinx ARM + FPGA boards.

    if you’re willing to ‘try’ things, the parallella board is made from the same SoC family, with an added 16 core DSP/CPU. It’s a newborn company, so failure will probably happen, but they recently secured a few Million dollars from Ericsson so they might be worth it.
