The box is said to run Android 4.4. I’m not sure which accessories are included, and it’s not available on Aliexpress yet. AndroidPC.es reports the box sells for around 160 Euros ($210) in China, and that there will be a version for international market with a different firmware. I could also find it on a little known website called iAndroidTVBox for $219. You can also find more details and pictures in Chinese on Mele BBS.

as far as such boxes go, this sounds pretty promissing.
Sad thing is that there probably will never be any kind of usable 3rd party os for whatever “Mstar MSO9180″ should be. :-/

Specifications are very good and it’s rare to see a HDD capable box aside from the odd Realtek RTD1195 unit.

No-one cares about linux for those who would buy something like this, you can already buy real good linux devices like the CuBox-i and more.

If this was being sold in the west running Google’s official AndroidTV OS they would sell no problem at all, this is a successor to the likes of the WDTV, Popcornhour and others off the shelf boxes.

But tablet Android is rubbish in west (perhaps not in China) and major legit streaming apps dont work well like Netflix or not at all.

Does this Mstar 9810 SoC support hardware acceleration for XBMC?
