Chromium OS Image for PopMetal Rockchip RK3288 Development Board

We’ve been teased about Chromium OS on Rockchip RK3288 about a year ago, and RK3288 kernel and Chromium overlay have also been available for nearly a year, but AFAIK there hasn’t been any Chromium OS firmware for any particurlar hardware, until yesterday, where Chipspark released a Chromium OS image for their PopMetal board. I haven’t been able to download the file yet, because the download speed is terrible, but you could download chromium_image.tar.gz to have a look. That could mean Rockchip RK3288 based Chrome OS devices may not be so far off now. Up to now, we’ve had mainly two development boards based on Rockchip RK3288 Cortex A17 processor: Firefly-RK3288 is a low cost development board powered by Rockchip RK3288 processor selling for as low as $140 shipped, and Radxa Rock 2, a more professional and expansive solution with dual Ethernet, 3G modem and so on. A third RK3288 board has now surfaced which offers a middle ground between Firefly and Radxa boards. PopMetal development board comes with 2GB RAM, 8GB eMMC, 5 video outputs / display interfaces namely HDMI, VGA, embedded DisplayPort (eDP), LVDS, and MIPI DSI, as well as the usual Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, complemented with GPS and NFC. Rayeager PX2 Development Board Features Rockchip PX2 Dual Core Cortex A9 Processor

Rockchip has apparently discreetly released a PX2 SoC with a dual core Cortex A9 processor @ 1.4 GHz coupled with a Mali-400MP4 GPU, that on the surface looks extremely similar to their RK3066 SoC. Unfortunately, at first, I could not find much details about the processor itself, but Chipspark have introduced Rayeager PX2 development board based on the new Rockchip processor, with 1 to 2 GB RAM, an 8GB eMMC flash, and various ports including a SATA 2.0 interface.
