NORVI RPI-HMI is an industrial controller with a 7-inch touchscreen screen display powered by a Raspberry Pi CM4 and equipped with a range of interfaces including a gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port, a few USB ports, and several terminal blocks for RS485 (Modbus), digital and analog input, transistor outputs, and 24V DC power input. The new Raspberry Pi CM4-based HMI announcement follows the NORVI ESP32-HMI controller that was launched last December with an ESP32-S3 wireless microcontroller and a 5-inch LCD display with resistive touch. The NORVI RPI-HMI builds on that with a much faster Arm processor, a larger display with a capacitive touchscreen, gigabit Ethernet, and a wider range of I/Os that makes it suitable for various industrial HMI and PLC applications. Scaleway launches hosted RISC-V servers for 15.99 Euros per month

French company Scaleway has just launched the “Elastic Metal RV1” bare metal servers which it claims to be the world’s first RISC-V servers available in the cloud with pricing at 0.042 Euros per hour, or 15.99 Euros a month excluding VAT. Scaleway launched some Arm servers based on Marvell Armada 370/XP quad-core Cortex A9 processor in 2015 before phasing those out a few years ago, and they are now just offering AMD and Intel-based servers and hosted Apple Mac computers based on the M1 Arm chip. The ASUS Tinker board 3 was first unveiled in April 2023 before being renamed as Tinker Board 3N later that year, and the three variants of the Rockchip RK3568 single board computer (SBC) are now available. The standard configuration is the Tinker Board 3N in the commercial temperature range, while the Tinker Board 3N Plus has the same features, except it can operate in the industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C). The Tinker Board 3N Lite is a cost-down version in the same form factor, but with a single gigabit Ethernet port without PoE support, no M.2 B-key socket for an NVMe SSD or 4G/5G cellular connectivity, no 16MB SPI flash, fewer serial interfaces, and no CAN Bus.
