Wi-Fi SD Card Adapter for micro SD Cards Sells for $15 and Up

Wi-Fi SD cards are mostly used with camera in order to wirelessly transfer photos or/and videos to your computer or mobile device without having to take out the card or transfer them via a micro USB cable. I first discovered this type of card with Toshiba FlashAir in 2011, but now EyeFi seems to be the most popular brand, and comes in different sizes with the 8GB Wi-FI SD card selling for $44 on Amazon US. There are cheaper alternatives with some Wi-Fi SD card adapters accepting micro SD card selling for about $15 and up on Aliexpress or Buyincoins, and DX calls it CY EP-027, but sells it for $23. GroBotz Interactive Robot Project is Made of Easy to Assemble Smart Blocks (Crowdfunding)

GroBotz makes me think of Lego applied to robotics. The project consists of modules such as motors, sensors, buttons, switches, or cameras that snap together in order to create a robot on wheels, games, toys, a musical instrument, or whatever idea you may have, and the hardware is then programmed using a graphical user interface. A Raspberry Pi board is used for the brain of the robot, and Microchip PIC MCUs for the smart blocks. The software is programmed in C# using Xamarin, the user interface is based on Unity, OpenCV is used for image processing, and during development a plastic part where printed with Makerbot, and schematics and PCB layout designed with CadSoft EAGLE. Pebble Time is the Color Version of the Pebble SmartWatch (Crowdfunding)

The original Pebble Watch launched on Kickstarter about 3 years ago, and after selling over 1 million watches, the company is back on Kickstarter with Pebble Time, a thinner version of the watch with an always-on color e-Paper display, a new “timeline” user interface, a microphone for voice recognition, and 7 days of battery life. Vidonn X6 Activity Tracker Promises Up to 15 days Battery Life

I reviewed Vidonn X5 fitness tracker last yet, and I found many issues or letdowns: battery life is too short (2 days), the digits are much smaller than advertized, the screen cannot be read under direct sunlight, a button must be pressed to check the time, the smartband is not as waterproof as advertized, and the Android app is a disaster. Despite all these issues, I still wear it everyday, as it helps me walk or run a bit more if I have not reached my daily target. Wi-Fi Sunglasses with Action Camera based on Ambarella A5 SoC

GoPro launched the action camera craze a few years ago, and many companies made lower cost products inspired my the popular action / sports camera. These can be great, but sometime mounting the camera can be an issue, and a company has decided to make some sort of GoPro sunglasses with a camera and Wi-Fi connectivity, in a style similar to Google glass but for shooting videos only. The OEM product is sold as TC62 on Tinydeals ($250), Iwearcam HD-S568 on Ebay ($210), or G200 on Aliexpress ($387). XBMC (name) is definitely dead, as developers of the popular open source “entertainment center” project have announced the first stable Kodi release – the new name of XBMC – with XBMC 14.0 Helix.
