There are a few Android TV boxes on the market with digital tuners (DVB-T2, DVB-S2, ATSC..), such as WeTek Play or VideoStrong K1, but unless you install some “special” app like OSCAM, you’ll only be able to watch Free-to-air channels. Shenzhen SDMC Technology DV7810-T2 Android set-top box adds a conditional access smartcard slot to work with the built-in DVB-T2 tuner.

The box comes with a remote control, a user’s manual, a power adapter, and AV and HDMI cables by default. This set-top box is running Android 4.4, and is said to support Beenius and HbbTV middleware, but I’ve been told the European standard HbbTV has not been implemented in the box yet. Seven days EPG, USB PVR, Timeshifting, program playback, and “timing playing” are other features supported by the system.
This box is probably not suited for selling directly to individuals, as I assume some sort of conditional access integration with content providers is required (TBC), but the company lists its Android set-top box on Alibaba, and on its own website.

I think I will be waiting for the DV7810-S2 or the K1 to drop under the 70 USD that’s the fair price to pay for an S805 device

Shenzhen SDMC Technology not sell this box. aliexpress or web. only sell to tv operator company. othethand amlogi c s812 has bog for mpeg2-and h264 ts. h264 ts stutter every 40 second. need to fix amcodech in kernel.

I see, like I said I was waiting for T+the DV7810-S2 for months now but it’s seems that it will never get to customer market :p I had my doubts about S805 the cortex A5 isn’t great far from that, but the VPU seems very solid with a good playback, this morning I read that VENZ is interested on making an S812 DVB box but no release date was delivred.
the real question that I always asked why they never use Rockchip RK3288 or AllWInner A80 chipset for DVB boxes, it won’t be that hard to have the AVL6211 (the only tuner that seems to be used) DRIVERS for example and compile it with the kernel to get it work

if you want some real support for DVB-API and V4L, just one solution for now, OPENELEC, and for half the price of wetek, that could be a good alternative

Vigica and others who run OpenELEC dont have DVB-API as their driver is not DVB-API compatible for DVB, and only one who make it full working was wetek, so they can use all juice at DVB
but the tuner they use seems to be -T only
