VideoStrong is better known for their Android set-top boxes with digital TV tuners, but they are making other hardware too, and their latest design is a Rockchip RK3399 development board named VS-RD-RK3399.

The specifications are very similar to the ones for Firefly-RK3399 board, except a few tweaks here and there. You’ll find the header pinout in that document.
The company will offer support for both Android 7.1 and Linux, but when asked about the SDK I was told that “SDK could be down load from our indicating link”. If you are confused, so I was, but after deep mediation, I saw the light, and it probably means that they’ll provide download links for the SDK to their customers only.
The kit comes with an acrylic case, and antennas for WiFi and Bluetooth. I don’t have any confirmation about the price, but the board is listed on Alibaba for $149.99. We’ll soon find out more as the company intends to send a sample for review.

I used the specs in the doc file. No memory capacity, just supported memories.
But it looks like it’s 4GB LPDDR3-1866 as per other comments. You can probably ask them to put other memory type / capacities if the board supports it.

don’t even know if this “closed source binaries” made it useless, or hordes of open sourced fans. xD
As I have switched to Armbian from a companies effort for another product, I will avoid closed efforts now if possible.

Went to the Videostrong website.
The VS-RD-RK3399 webpage mentions RK3288 several times. And also Mali-T764 and Mali-T760.
Downloads section is empty.
And the Community/forum is in Chinese only.
I gave up.
What am I missing ?

But AFAIK, there’s not really a community around that board, so you may have to rely on Firefly-RK3399. VS-RK3399 is probably better suited to companies with a specific project that work directly with VideoStrong.

I was actually hoping to download source code of (patched) drivers to compile clfs and Arch Linux Arm.
I’m positive that I can get AOSP to compile (not all hardware is needed).
Is Mecool a Videostrong label, or maybe the other way around ?
I can’t find a Mecool website (only Gearbest), so I guess that it’s a Videostrong label.
You’re probably right though, that Videostrong is not targeting lone developers and tiny companies.
I’m probably better of with a Rock960 or a HiKey 960. The HiKey 960 is my first choice of all these boards. But no RJ45 Ethernet functionality on the HiKey 960 board still ticks me off. I would have to buy an adapter like the TP-Link UE300/UE330 to add wired local network and wired internet.

Forgot this. Firefly is ignoring me big time. I sent them a tweet that I’m not getting the email with verification code to register at their website : https://twitter.com/BobbyBabes/status/955463979811426304 But it received no response.
Then, 2 days ago, I sent them an email through their website’s contact form. Again no response.
Eight hours later, I also sent emails to the email addresses starting with sales@ and service@ at their “Contact Us” page. Again no response.
This doesn’t look good.
