Rikomagic has been releasing Android TV boxes at least since 2012, but in recent years the company has also started to work on Android projectors, and a couple of years ago I reviewed Rikomagic RKM R1 mini projector, and I was fairly satisfied despite the system using an entry-level quad-core Cortex-A7 processor (Rockchip RK3128).
Based on the same industrial design, Rikomagic R5 projector launched in 2018 is more up-to-date to today’s user’s requirements with Rockchip RK3328 and 2GB RAM. But with Rikomagic R6 mini Android projector, the company is trying something different, at least in terms of appearance, as the projector looks like a vintage radio.

The projector runs Android 7.1.2 operating system, and ships with a power adapter, an IR remote control and a user manual by default. This model seems to lack the top touchpad which I found so convenient in RKM R1 projector. There isn’t any video input such as HDMI or VGA, so you would not be able to connect your laptop or other input device to the projector, meaning it just works in standalone mode.
The projector is not available on Aliexpress just yet, but Rikomagic is taking orders from resellers and distributors, and if you are interested you could contact the company via the product page.

Just wondering, what does 720p physical lens vs. 1080p output means?
It’s the distinction of what they can translate from to the native resolution.
I’m a bit curious about the design choice. To me it’s as pointless as its opposite – a radio designed to look like a projector – would be.
It does not look like a vintage radio, it looks like a vintage television!
