Chuwi LarkBox Pro mini PC gets a faster Celeron J4125 processor, sells for $179

CHUWI Larkbox is a 2.4-inch mini PC that can fit in the palm of your kid’s hand and that launched last year on Indiegogo for as low as $149. It’s powered by an Intel Celeron J4115 Gemini Lake Refresh processor that currently in the process of being discontinued.

So the company has now come up with an upgrade and launched the Chuwi Larkbox Pro with exactly the same specifications, except for the (slightly) faster Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core GLK Refresh processor with a 2.0 GHz base frequency and 2.7 GHz Turbo frequency, against 1.8 and 2.5 GHz respectively for J4115.

Intel Celeron J4125 mini PCThe mini PC ships with Windows 10 Home, but it can also run Linux distributions. The device comes with a 24W “USB” power supply, but note that it’s not an actual USB power supply, and instead it’s just a standard 12V power supply that happens to connect to a USB-C port. If you ever connect this power adapter to other USB equipment, you’ll likely fry them.

Most people will not notice a performance difference between J4115 and J4125 processors, so the company probably updated the processor due to upcoming supply constraints.

Chuwi Larkbox Pro can be purchased for $219 on CHUWI store, but you’ll find a better price on Amazon where it is sold for $179 and the older Chuwi Larkbox goes for $169.

  1. Nice, I like how these chinese brands are using surplus/stock components to build this good price-value tech.
i would like to see them (inovative) competing with the established (stagnant) USA/Taiwan brands sooner than later.

  2. Still an interesting device, except for the power supply that’s incompatible with true USB-C and that will result in frying whatever your kids or friends will plug onto the flying cable 🙁
Given they’re refreshed it with a newer CPU they could at least have worked on this point!

    1. The USB-C implementation should have allowed for the use of external hubs to enhance data/ethernet/HDMI connectivity with power delivery too, which would have made it a monster product.

  3. Watch out this Chuwi Larkbox USB-C power supply, directly supply 12V without PD negotiation. Don’t plug in the power supply to your other USB-C device !!!
