I could not find the specifications for the router, so all we really have are user reviews on Amazon. Most users are saying the user interface is limited and the router needs to be power cycled from time to time. Several are using the Jlink as a WiFi 6 repeater and most buyers seem relatively happy once the price (usually $40 to $50) is taken into consideration.

  1. “the user interface is limited and the router needs to be powered cycled from time to time.”

Ouch! I want my wifi to be rock stable.

A few months ago I switched to meshed APs (TP-Link Deco M5) per floor, and it’s fantastic: stable (not a reboot once), and great throughput (not fiber line speed, but more than enough).

  2. For the price, on the surface, it looks like good value, something seemingly rare in the world of newer, ‘sell it for 100 times the manufacturing cost because the customer will fall for it’ ideology tech so prominent these days.

    1. It could be. It’s a mobile link with limited info and that’s hard to read, and Alibaba does not give an option to switch to desktop mode… Replacing the “m” with “www” does not work.

        1. That’s the official website, and I had not seen it. But there’s no additional information like specs there either.

  3. Amazon US is saying the coupon code isn’t valid and showing the price as $50.

Oh, there’s a box on the product page near the description to apply a coupon. Sneaky. Also, the code from this article doesn’t work, but the one from the noteboot check article does. Total discount -$25

      1. I ordered one, but set the delivery to next week. I’ll see about setting this up after we get back from xmas. So, some time around new year. Thanks for the tip!

As far as I know, I only have three devices which fully support Wifi6, so testing will be a bit off. Speaking of which, I need to get one of them off the wireless network… Grumble….

  4. Always happy to checkout a good deal, i’ll dust off my rusty old flashrom hardware to dump the flash if possible, would be interesting if we could get openwrt to run on it. Or atleast get root so we can look for weird stuff.

Something to do while Espressif works on really releasing their wifi 6 chips. My 2.4ghz is a bit saturated with 30+ of the esp8266 and even more zigbee stuff 🙂

  5. The manual lists ‘Unionman’ as the manufacturer, and fccid.io finds a router from that company with an identical case, see https://fccid.io/2ATGV-UNR030Z.

That one has an unusual ZTE ZX279128R SoC (dual-core Cortex-A9) plus the standard Mediatek MT7975/MT7905 radio chips that match the specifications listed here. It’s probably faster than an MT7621, but I see no chance of getting this to work in OpenWRT.

    1. No OpenWRT – No buy!

Owning only the Hardware and not the whole thing (including the Software part!) shouldn’t be considered by a human being.
