The AI-NONXS development board supports Linux through the NVIDIA JetPack 6.2 with Super Mode performance profile, on-device inference for large language models (LLMs), small language models (SLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), vision transformers (ViT), Stable Diffusion (text-to-image), DeepSeek R1, etc.
Target applications include Smart Factories, Smart Retail, automated warehouses, Smart Cities, transportation, and Smart Agriculture, among others. I was quite disappointed with the specifications and documentation since both are incomplete or even lacking, and I had to “reverse-engineer” the specifications above, in a way I often do with more obscure boards out of mainland China.
There are already plenty of NVIDIA Jetson Orion NX development boards and Edge AI computers, but I found it intriguing that BIOSTAR decided to enter this market too.
BIOSTAR did not provide pricing information for the AI-NONXS Edge AI developer kit, but we can expect it to show up on some resellers soon. More details can be found in the press release and on the product page, which includes an embarrassing “spec sheet”.
