Seeed Studio has recently announced the XIAO W5500 Ethernet Adapter with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support and built around the XIAO ESP32S3 Plus WiFi and Bluetooth module, and a WIZnet W5500 10/100 Mbps Ethernet SPI controller.
PoE is implemented through an MQ7813T120 module and a 5V regulator with a TPS563201 buck converter. The XIAO W5500 also features an external 2.4GHz antenna for WiFi and BLE, a reset button, status LEDs, and a USB-C port for power and programming, all enclosed in a 3D printed case.

The XIAO W5500 Ethernet Adapter also has 15 usable GPIOs, but they are only accessible if you take the board out of the 3D printed case. Seeed Studio is also showcasing a version with camera support by attaching the XIAO ESP32S2 Sense module, but it’s not available yet.
Seeed Studio provides some documentation and instructions to get started with the Arduino IDE and the ESP32 Arduino Ethernet Library in the wiki. In addition, the board has features very similar to the LILYGO T-ETH-Lite, namely an ESP32-S3 SoC, a W5500 Ethernet controller, and optional PoE, so it might be possible to reuse the firmware and code samples for the LILYGO board. The 3D design file for the enclosure is available on the company’s Thingiverse page.
This type of Ethernet adapter enhances network stability in localized environments and can be useful for Smart Home control systems, industrial automation, and remote monitoring. The XIAO W5500 Ethernet Adapter is available for $20.34 on AliExpress and $19.90 on the Seeed Studio store, plus shipping and taxes.
