Please note that the company doesn’t specify the exact SoC models used, and what I’ve mentioned in the specifications section is just a guesswork based on the listed TDPs (MTL-U, 15W / MTL-H, 28W). Additionally, from the block diagram and hardware overview, it shows there’s a MIPI-CSI connector for the camera, but it doesn’t look like a standard socket, and you would likely need an adapter board or carrier module from ADLINK.
Like other 3.5-inch SBC35 boards from ADLINK, the SBC35-MTL features an SBC-FM connector for I/O expansion modules. Such modules connect to the motherboard via an FPC cable, and ADLINK offers modules with up to four USB 2.0 ports, five RS-232 COM ports, or eight isolated DIOs, for a variety of applications.
ADLINK provides support for Windows 10 and 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 24H2 as well as Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, though Linux support is provided on a project basis. We had previously written about other Intel Core Ultra-based 3.5-inch SBCs, including the Jetway F35-MTU1, iBASE IB962, and AAEON GENE-MTH6, so ADLINK is not the first company to sell this type of hardware.
As a side note, ADLINK also introduced the SBC35-ASL 3.5-inch SBC with an industrial-grade Amston Lake processor. However, it’s basically the same board as the ADLINK SBC35-ALN 3.5-inch Intel N97 SBC, so we did not write another article about it, since only the processor changed.
At the time of writing, the company does not mention any pricing details for the SBC35-MTL and SBC35-ASL on its website. Instead, you can directly contact ADLINK with your requirements through the “Request Quote” option or the “Where to Buy” section on the product page. More information may also be available in the press release.
