We’ve just written about the Ugoos X5M Pro as one of the first Amlogic S905X5M TV boxes, but the market is expanding, and Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) Google TV dongle is now available as a smaller version of the company’s Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) based on the same or similar processor.
The TV stick features 2GB RAM, 8GB eMMC flash, a 4K-capable HDMI male port, and WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and not much else, as one would expect from an HDMI TV stick. It ships with a Bluetooth remote that supports Google Assistant voice commands. The company did not list the exact part number of the processor, and while it matches the Amlogic S905X5M specifications, it should be another model without Ethernet support, like Amlogic did in the past with the S905Y4, so maybe an S905Y5M?
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) specifications:
- SoC – Amlogic S905X5M or a yet-to-be-announced S905Y5M?
- CPU – Quad-core Cortex-A55 processor @ 2.5 GHz
- GPU – Arm G310-V2 GPU @ 850 MHz supporting OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.0, and OpenCL 2.0

- 4Kp30: H.264

- System Memory – 2GB RAM
- Storage – 8GB eMMC flash

- Power Supply – 5V via micro USB port
- Dimensions – 107.4 x 30 x 14 mm

The company says the second-generation stick delivers 80% higher CPU performance and 150% higher GPU rendering compared to the original Xiaomi TV Stick 4K powered by an Amlogic S805Y CPU. There’s no mention of AI super resolution at all, which would be an odd omission if it’s indeed based on the S905X5M.
The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) ships with a power adapter, a USB power cable, an HDMI extension cable, a remote control, and a user manual. It runs Google TV with built-in Chromecast, and supports Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Xiaomi Mi TV+ out of the box.
The TV stick is sold for 44.99 Euros on the Xiaomi Germany store, but you can also get it for $44 and up on various AliExpress stores. Additional information may also be found on the Xiaomi website.

It amost seeems that in order to get certifications, your device must be very limited in I/O.
It is worth noting that such a cheap device has both HDR10+ and DolvyVision support, which does indicate that is must cost very little to licence such features and yet in the television sector, you would have thought that DV was a caviar style luxury with the huge mark-ups for the privilege.
Can this “Google TV on a stick” be seen as the successor to the Google Chromecast (which is not sold anymore, at least nothing in the 40-50 euro range)?
2025年的新产品还在用A55就不说了,竟然还是2G内存
It only has 8 GB of eMMC no?
Yes. I’ve just fixed that.
google TV is android TV?
Its not the same, but close to it, mainly different launcher and settings app.
Could this be re-flashed with something like libreelec?
Worthless device with 8GB eMMC. I thought we were way past that. A new device for that price with a low budget SoC as this one should come with 4/32GB.
2GB ram should be fine for a TV, but yeah 8GB eMMC is really stupid.
Fully agree 3/32 should be minimum
Too little memory and ram
