The company provides support for Yocto Linux, and early development can be done with the Advantech SOM-DB2510 carrier board. Resources provided to customers include reference schematics and layout checklists, and documentation for carrier board development, a Linux BSP, test utilities, hardware design utilities, and reference drivers.

Advantech is not exactly the first company to launch an NXP i.MX 95 SMARC 2.1/2.2 module, and other models you’ll find are ADLINK LEC-IMX95, iWave iW-RainboW-G61M, and congatec conga-SMX95, among others. Another notable difference for the Advantech module is that it lacks a wireless option, so WiFI and Bluetooth would have to be implemented on the carrier board instead.

Software and documentation support for the AOM-2521 is about the same as for the AOM-5521 (Yocto Linux). The Advantech OSM carrier board can be used for development and evaluation as part of the AOM-2521 evaluation kit, but I couldn’t find any information about it.
While there are plenty of NXP i.MX 95 SMARC modules, the AOM-2521 is the first OSM module based on the processor, although more should be coming as NXP i.MX 93 OSM modules like the ADLINK OSM-IMX93 or iWave iW-RainboW-G50M are already available.
No pricing information was provided by the company. Additional information can be found on the respective product pages for the AOM-5521 and AOM-2521 system-on-modules, as well as in the press release.
