NEXCOM DFA 1163 Series is a 5G FWA desktop uCPE (universal Customer Premise Equipment) family powered by an Intel Atom C3758R “Denverton” processor, featuring 10GbE, 2.5GbE, GbE, WiFi 6, 4G LTE, and 5G cellular connectivity, as well as NTN satellite communication.
It’s designed for remote and infrastructure-light environments requiring enterprise-grade uptime and compute power without traditional fixed-line networks. The DFA 1163A supports 5G R16 FR1, while the DFA 1163Q module integrates 5G R16 FR1 and FR2-NSA support. The DFA 1163M is an older model introduced in 2023 with TSN support.

The machine does not seem to be preloaded with any software, and the user manual only provides information about the hardware and detailed BIOS settings. The Download section mentions Windows support, but as I understand it, the user would have to install his/her preferred OS and software, and configure the machine accordingly. [Update: the Nexcom USA website has some details about the supported software:
- User-Defined Container Apps
- Open-Source Apps (Docker/QEMU/KVM/Kubernetes)
- Self-Developed/Customized Apps
- User-Centric Interaction
- Intuitive GUI
- 260+ RESTful APIs

Target applications listed by Nexcom include 5G security gateway, edge computing, SDWAN, VPN, and routing deployment at the enterprise edge. Last time we wrote about Intel Atom C3758R hardware was for the Qotom Q20332G9-S10 fanless network appliance with four 10 GbE and five 2.5GbE ports, and an M.2 socket for 4G LTE/5G cellular connectivity, among other features.
I was unable to find pricing information for the Deverton uCPE. More details may be found on the product page, where you’ll find a “Quick Guide” (description of ports and interfaces), a “Solution Sheet” with various products for the company, and a “User Manual”. The press release is mostly fluff.
