Octavo OSD62x-PM SiP combines Texas Instruments AM62x SoC with up to 2GB DDR4 in a tiny 14x9mm BGA package

Octavo OSD62x-PM System-in-Package (SiP) integrates Texas Instruments AM62x quad-core Cortex-A53 SoC, up to 2GB DDR4 memory, and required passive components into a tiny 14x9mm BGA package.

It’s a smaller and cheaper version of the Octava OSD62x SiP (21x21mm) with AM62x SoC, DDR4, PMIC, EEPROM, and optional integrations. We noted both the OSD62x and OSD62x-PM in our previous article, but both are now available for purchase, and the OSD62-PM-BRK Evaluation Board is also ready to ship.

While the OSD62x-PM SiP could be used for any embedded Linux project, it’s especially well-suited for dual-screen human-machine interfaces (HMI), edge AI and machine vision systems, building automation and industrial controllers, and space-limited robotics and IoT gateways.

The Octava OSD6254-1G-IPM SiP can be purchased on Digikey ($29.23) and Mouser ($35.58), with the price dropping to $24.68 per unit for 100+ piece orders. The OSD64x-PM-BRK evaluation board is listed for around $115, but is currently out of stock. Additional information may be found on the product pages for the SiP and evaluation board.
