ACMER X1 Ultra is a DIY maker’s dream, featuring a large 3-in-1 120W diode, 4W IR laser engraver, and CNC router with a large work area of around 2.5 x 1.2 meters, catering to the needs of most users.
However, the company is fully aware that different users have different needs, so they create different versions of the machine: the X1 with a work area of 76.7 x 76.7 cm and no CNC support, the X1 Plus with a work area of about 1.2 x 1.2 meters, and the aforementioned X1 Ultra.
You’ll find the key specifications for all three variants of the ACMER X1 machine in the table below.

The 120W diode in the professional-grade laser system supports speeds of up to 3,0000mm/min. It’s 3-4 times faster and can cut workpieces twice as thick compared to a traditional 40W laser engraver, and delivers 6 times higher energy efficiency compared to a CO₂ machine. In practical terms, that means it can cut 40 mm-thick solid Paulownia wood in one single pass, and the same can be done with 30mm-thick acrylic and 28 mm-thick plywood. Users may not need to full 120W diode power for all projects, so they can switch between 20W, 60W, and 120W power modes depending on the needed accuracy.
The IntelliCool Precision Thermal Control System with precision water channels and high-efficiency heat sinks provides a 5-in-1 monitoring enclosure system delivering 10x longer lifespan (up to 15,000 hours) and round-the-clock reliability, day in and day out, with an error rate reduced to 3% compared to 7% in traditional air cooling.
A built-in HD camera locks onto a 400 x 400mm detail zone to perform high-alignment tasks with pinpoint accuracy. The machine supports rapid head-switching in just 20 seconds, allowing smooth transitions between metal and non-metal materials such as wood, acrylic, and leather.
Since higher power means greater risks of fire and smoke, the ACMER implements a premium end-to-end safety system with a fully enclosed fire-resistant housing, dual-fan convection system, boosting exhaust efficiency by 40%, a built-in flame detection and automatic fire suppression to protect both the machine and environment, an emergency stop and four-way limit switches for operational safety, and laser head protection. The aforementioned built-in camera also helps with detecting issues while the machine is operating.
The ACMER X1 laser engraver and CNC router is controlled through the AcmerTool software to not only engrave or mill, but also help the users create shapes and designs. It would on Windows and MacOS, and a mobile version is also available for Android and iOS.
The ACMER X1 laser engraving and CNC machine will be launched on Kickstarter soon. Price has not been announced yet, but you can reserve yours for $49 (refundable) today, and get an extra $200 discount before 9 am on September 2.
