EBYTE has recently released an Allwinner A527/T527-based Raspberry Pi-like industrial SBC with dual camera and AI features, with a design very similar to the Walnut Pi 2B, and to a lesser extent, the Orange Pi 4A. It is designed for embedded, IoT, and smart commercial applications.
The board supports up to 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB eMMC storage, and MicroSD card expansion. Display options include HDMI 2.0 and a 4-lane MIPI DSI interface enabling dual 4K output, while two 4-lane MIPI CSI connectors allow simultaneous camera inputs. Connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 4.2, and a PCIe 2.1 x1 slot for high-speed expansion. It also features four USB 2.0 ports, a Type-C power interface, and a 40-pin Raspberry Pi-compatible GPIO header.

There are multiple versions of the SBC based on three versions of the SoC. The Allwinner A527 is used in models like ECB32-PBA2-N and ECB32-PBA4-N, with 2GB or 4GB LPDDR4 memory, respectively, but requires a MicroSD card for the OS and lacks an NPU. The Allwinner T527M is used in the industrial-grade ECB32-PBT2-N and ECB32-PBT4-N boards, which ship with the same memory, storage, and NPU configuration as the A527 models. The Allwinner T527MN is featured in the ECB32-PBTN4E32-N with 4GB LPDDR4 memory, built-in 32GB eMMC flash storage, and a 2 TOPS NPU for AI processing.
Software support includes Linux, Debian, and Buildroot systems with Wayland, Qt, and Python environments. The board runs on Linux kernel 5.15.147 with U-Boot 2018.07 and Buildroot SDK 202205. To make the development process easier, the company provides SDK source code, including SPL, U-Boot, kernel, and BSP drivers for audio, CAN, GPIO, display, PCIe, and other interfaces. The T527MN model adds AI framework support for TensorFlow, Keras, ONNX, and Caffe. The company also provides tools like PhoenixSuit and PhoenixCard for firmware flashing, along with YUV Player and CH341SER drivers. The platform is validated through 72-hour burn-in, 3000 power cycles, and full I/O stability tests. All product manuals, hardware files, and other software-related information are available on the download section of the products page. However, when I tried to download the software package, it redirected me to Baidu, so I couldn’t download the files and verify their claims about software support.
There are already other Allwinner A527/T527-powered SBCs, and besides the Walnut Pi 2B and Orange Pi 4A noted in the introduction, other options include the Avaota A1 open-source hardware SBC and Radxa Cubie A5E.
The EBYTE Allwinner A527/T527 SBCs are available on AliExpress, where the ECB32-PBT4-N with Allwinner T527M SoC costs around $81.99, and the ECB32-PBTN4E32-N with T527MN SoC costs around $89.79. The company also sells an MIPI to HDMI module for $8.49to add an extra HDMI port to the boards. Finally, the development boards are also available on the Ebyte store, but at the time of writing, they’re out of stock there.
