$149 Allwinner A733 development board offers HDMI Input, eDP, Android 15 support

While browsing AliExpress, I came across an Allwinner A733 development board (A733MAIBORADBV1) priced at $149, which piqued my interest as the price tag was much higher than other A733 boards, such as the $35+ Orange Pi 4 Pro or Radxa Cubie A7Z/A7A.

It turns out that this board not only supports up to 16GB of RAM, and Android 15. It also includes features like HDMI input and output, MIPI-CSI/DSI, eDP, capacitive touch, and M.2 expansion, making it a development platform for tablets, laptops, and AI prototypes rather than low-cost maker projects.

Like other Allwinner A733 development boards, software support for this board remains quite limited. On 16rd, a Chinese online community, forum, and online store, the listing mentions Android 14 and Android 15 support but does not provide any downloads or resources. The only usable software reference I could find for the Allwinner A733 so far is Radxa’s allwinner-bsp repository, and the ROM for the Teclast P50 AI tablet, which can be downloaded from needrom.com. Also, there are tabs like the Callsky-Tab Ctab10 Pro, which also supports Android 15.

  1. The board is for professional use, but does not come with bsp, they just manufactured that board and call it a day?

  2. I bought SBC with the same Allwinner SoC but from different manufacturer Radxa Cubie A7Z.
After loading Debian distro on it I found out my app doesn’t work due to low version of glibc library. When I did check on what release of Debian it is, it was Debian 11, which is 2 releases behind !
Then I tried distro upgrade and it failed due to some custom libraries. I didn’t know how to resolve it and because it was holding upgrade of systemd, essential program, I returned it back.

  3. Fun fact. Actually it was me who asked youyeetoo guys to re-sell this board from the original chinese manufacturer on aliexpress. the board has documentation in chinese (as a PDF file). To get the docs, you need to go to vendor website, than switch to chinese version, and then you will be able to find it. The english website has no listing for this board. When I realized that the board costs $150 I decided avoid buying it. but youyeetoo support is great! 🙂
Also, you can have a chat in WeChat / Whatsapp with the vendor. these seem very nice and helpful guys.
