The FORTEC Group’s SBCPRO-X51 is a 3.5-inch industrial, fanless SBC powered by Intel Atom x7211RE Amston Lake dual-core processor that takes M.2 modules to add USB-C DisplayPort or V-By-One display interfaces, or other features.
The board takes up to 16GB DDR5 memory, supports M.2 NVMe SSD storage, and offers a DisplayPort video output, two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, an M.2 slot for WiFi and Bluetooth, several USB 3.2/2.0 interfaces, two RS232/RS422/RS485 interfaces, and more. The SBCPRO-X51 is engineered to run in a wide operating temperature range from –20°C to +85°C for demanding industrial and IoT environments.

On the software side, the datasheet only mentions support for Windows 11 IoT LTSC, but the press release also adds “various Linux variants, and common embedded tools”. FORTEC also aims to provide long-term support and software maintenance, alongside long-term hardware availability.
It’s not quite the first 3.5-inch Amston Lake SBC we’ve seen. Other options include the IBASE IB839 with Intel Atom x7211RE, Atom x7433RE, or Processor N97 (Alder Lake-N) CPU options, Kontron 3.5″-SBC-AML with three DisplayPort interfaces (2x DP + 1x USB-C), ASRock Industrial SBC-262M-WT with a wider range of Amston Lake CPU options to the Atom x7433RE, and several others. What’s quite unique about the FORTEC SBC is that the company offers M.2 display modules, rather than the more usual storage, wireless, or AI accelerator modules.

FORTEC explains that the USB-C M.2 module enables display connectivity through a single USB-C cable carrying power, DisplayPort video, and touch functionality, while the V-by-One M.2 module is suitable for larger, high-resolution 4K displays.
FORTEC did not provide availability and pricing information. You’ll find more details and the links to the M.2 display modules on the product page. The SBCPRO-X1 also serves as the base for the BCPPRO-X15 fanless embedded box PC pictured below.
