The company lists Windows 10 64-bit (LTSC) and Ubuntu 22.04.3 with Linux 6.2 as supported operating systems. It’s based on the de next-RAP8 credit card-sized Raptor Lake SBC introduced last June, but most of the internal interfaces are not accessible due to the metal enclosure. The SBC is offered with a range of 15W Raptor Lake processors, including the Core i3-1315UE and Core i5-1335UE, but the embedded system is apparently only sold with the Intel Core i7-1365UE SoC by default.
It’s also the second EZBOX computer we cover here, after the Intel Tiger Lake-based de next-TGU8-EZBOX was introduced in May 2024. The fanless and actively cooled versions of the de next-RAP8-EZBOX are basically the same, except for the different top cover that’s a heatsink + fan (fansink) on the latter.
The embedded system ships with a wall-mount kit and nothing else. AAEON has not provided pricing for the de next-RAP8-EZBOX, but for reference, samples of the de next-RAP8 single board computer sell for $1,442 on the company’s e-Shop with an Intel Core i7-1365UE CPU and 16GB of RAM (no storage, no power supply).
