We’ve just received a sample of the GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition mid-range mini PC for review. It’s powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 7530U 6-core/12-thread processor clocked at up to 4.5GHz, and equipped with 16GB dual-channel DDR4-3200MHz SODIMM memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Windows 11 Pro computer features two 4K-capable HDMI 2.0 ports, two USB-C ports with DisplayPort Alt mode, a 2.5GbE RJ45 jack, a Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 module, a full-size SD card reader, and a few USB 32/2.0 Type-A ports.
In the first part of the review, we’ll go through the specifications, an unboxing, and a teardown of the GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition mini PC, before booting it into Windows 11 Pro to make sure it’s working fine. In the next two parts of the review, we’ll then report our experience with Windows 11 Pro and an early Ubuntu 26.04 image with detailed features and performance testing.

Unboxing
We received the mini PC in a retail package reading “GEEKOM A Series Mini PC” and “Pro”, which is probably used for all GEEKOM A Series Pro mini PCs.

We can find details about the exact model on the bottom side of the package, which confirms we have received an A5 Pro mini PC powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 7530U CPU paired wth 16GB DDR4 SO-DIMM memory and 1TB M.2 SSD storage.

The package includes the mini PC itself, a 19V/3.42A (65W) power adapter, a power cord, an HDMI cable, a VESA mount with a screw page, a user guide, and the usual “Thank You” card.

The front pane;l comes with two properly marked USB 3.2 Tpye-A port rated up to 10Gbps (including one supporting power delivery), a 3.5mm audio jack, and a power button.

The rear panel comes with a 19V DC jack, two 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Type-C ports with DisplayPort Alt mode support, two HDMI 2.0 connectors, a 2.5GbE RJ45 jack, a 10Gbps USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a USB 2.0 port, as well as some ventilation holes above the connectors.

The mini PC has ventilation holes on both sides. One side also includes a full-size SD card reader slot, while the opposite side consists solely of ventilation holes.
The interfaces and enclosure both look very similar to the GEEKOM A5 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H) mini PC we reviewed in November 2023.
GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition teardown
Time for a teardown. First, we’ll remove the four rubber pads underneath the mini PC, then loosen and remove the four securing screws.

We can now take out the bottom cover, and do so carefully, since then there’s an antenna attached, and we don’t want to repair/replace the WiFi antenna as we did for another GEEKOM mini PC. After that, we’ll remove a metal plate to access the motherboard. It’s fitted with two DDR4 SODIMM modules and an M.2 SSD with a thermal pad.

If we remove those, we’ll find a 1TB Wooposit WP85N4M8-1TGP M.2 2280 NVMe (PCIe Gen4x4) SSD, as well as two 8GB Kingston KVR32S22S8/8 1.2V SODIMM modules for a total of 16GB of RAM.
We’ll also find an M.2 2242 SATA socket on the board, as well as an AzureWave AW-XB547NF M.2 2230 WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 module connected to two internal antennas. The GL3590 USB 3.1 Gen 2 hub controller is used for the front USB ports.
We can also see an unpopulated FPC SATA connector above the M.2 SATA connector, which was found in the GEEKOM A5 to connect an internal 2.5-inch SATA drive, but this feature has been removed from the GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition.
First boot to Windows 11 Pro
Time to reassemble the mini PC, connected to an HDMI monitor, a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, and the power supply to boot it up. After going through the Windows 11 setup wizard, we could access the desktop with a working internet connection over WiFi 6.

Going to System->About, we can confirm we have an A5 Pro computer powered by a 2.0 GHz (base frequency) AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor with Radeon graphics, paired with 16GB of RAM, and running the latest Windows 11 Pro 25H2 operating system.
That’s all for today. The next step will be to test the GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition in detail in the second part of the review, before switching to Ubuntu (likely Ubuntu 26.04 Beta) in the third and final part.
We’d like to thank GEEKOM for sending the A5 Pro 2026 Edition mini PC for review. It can be purchased for $569 on the GEEKOM US store, or $549 on Amazon ,or 619 Euros on the GEEKOM DE store.
