Not everybody needs Wi-Fi in their router. That’s why Turris has now introduced the Omnia NG Wired dual 10GbE, quad 2.5GbE router without built-in Wi-Fi 7 connectivity to reduce costs.
The specifications are the same as those of the earlier Turris Omnia NG Wi-Fi 7 router introduced last November, and it still features two 10 Gbps Ethernet SFP+ cages and four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, but Wi-Fi 7 (and 5G cellular) connectivity is optional.
Turris Omnia NG Wired (RTROM04-NGW) specifications:
- SoC – Qualcomm IPQ9574 (Networking Pro 820 Platform) quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 processor @ 2.2GHz
- Memory – 2 GB RAM

- 8 GB eMMC storage
- M.2 socket for NVMe SSD

The router still runs the OpenWrt-based Turris OS with automatic updates, a web configuration interface, and support for LXC containerization for installing and managing Linux distributions such as Debian or Ubuntu.
The router implements various security features, but the “Turris Sentinel” distributed dynamic firewall makes it stand out from other routers. If one attack is detected on one Turris router, it is reported to Turris, which may then add a new firewall rule to all routers made by the company. This enables dynamic firewall configuration with the latest threats mitigated in near real-time. Check out the software and hardware documentation for the Omnia NG / NG Wired for more details.

The Turris Omnia NG Wired sells for 349.54 Euros, saving around 110 Euros compared to the Turris Omnia NG before VAT is applied (if applicable).
