Mekotronics is known for its unusual Rockchip devices, and the R57-5S is a Rockchip RK3576 mini PC for kiosks and digital signage applications with a built-in, inclined 5-inch touchscreen display.
The system ships with up to 16GB LPDDR5, up to 128GB eMMC flash, or up to 1TB UFS flash. It also features an M.2 socket for storage or an AI accelerator, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C DP video outputs, a 4K-capable HDMI input port, dual GbE, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, optional 4G LTE, a few USB ports, and a terminal block with RS232 and RS485 interfaces.

The hardware is somewhat similar to the company’s R57 mini PC introduced in 2024, but adds a touchscreen display. The design reminds me of Intel-based mini PCs from PIPO and GOLE that integrate a similarly inclined touchscreen display, allegedly to work around Windows license requirements at the time.
The Mekotronics R57-5S targets different applications as an Arm-based system with support for Android 14, Buildroot, Debian, and Armbian. It’s clearly not a consumer product, seeing the huge bezel in the photo below, but it could be made part of kiosks or digital signage solutions with the small 5-inch touch display acting as an interface to control one or two larger displays connected over HDMI and/or USB-C.
The Mekotronics R57-5S is listed on Made-in-China for $260 (4GB/32GB model), but the price is also shown to be negotiable, so go figure. I’ve just come across it today, but it looks to have been launched last year, and Leepsvideo had a quick look at the mini PC in the video hands-on below.
