Installing a multi-node mesh network is one way to extend the range of your WiFi network, but the Wavkong V2700 Wi-Fi 6 router is said to remove that need, with the ability to provide 15,000 sq ft (about 1400 m2) of coverage from a single device.
WavKong claims it’s possible thanks to the company’s Radio Processing Unit (RPU), a dedicated digital RF processing chip that continuously corrects signal distortion in real time using base-station-class Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) technology found in cellular infrastructure and satellite systems.
WavKong V2700 specifications:
- SoC – MediaTek Filogic 820 (MT7981) dual-core Cortex-A53 processor @ 1.3 GHz
- System Memory – 256 MB RAM
- Storage – 128 MB flash

- Misc
- Reset and Mesh buttons
4x LEDs (Sys, 2.4G, 5G, Mesh)
- Reset and Mesh buttons
- Power Supply – 12V DC/5A adapter

- Humidity (operating) – 0%–90%,non-condensing
- Altitude – < 3,000 m
The router ships with a 2-meter Ethernet cable, a power adapter, and a Quick User Guide. The information on the software is limited, and a web interface provides parental Controls, VPN, QoS, Security, etc… It’s likely based on OpenWrt, or a fork.

WavKong says that the V2700 can deliver 3–10x higher throughput at mid-to-long range compared to conventional single-router setups, and offers performance similar to mesh setups. Everything reads as marketing speak so far, since they didn’t provide any detailed information about the RPU, and even the specs of the router are wrong on Kickstarter (MT7915 listed instead of MT7981). The company claims they’ve repeatedly validated the results through internal testing, and they’ve also sent units to beta testers such as KhanFlicks, who compared the range of a TP-Link Archer A20 against the WavKong 2700 with his phone and a Unitree humanoid robot roaming outdoors.
The longer the range, the better the V2700 looks. For one outdoor test, the phone could upload data at 3.39 Mbps when connected to the TP-Link model, and 356.2 Mbps when connected to the WavKong router at the exact same location. The robot could also walk much further from his house with the V2700 router.
WavKong launched the V2700 RPU-powered Wi-Fi 6 router on Kickstarter and raised over $200,000 US so far. Rewards start at $259 US (2,028 HKD) for one V2700 router, and bundles with up to 10 units are also offered. Shipping is free to the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, and Hong Kong, but adds up to 627 HKD ($80 US) to other countries. Deliveries are scheduled to start by July 2026. A few additional details may also be found on the Wavkong website.
