We have already checked out the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition mini PC’s hardware with an unboxing and a teardown in the first part of the review, before quickly trying the pre-installed Windows 11 Pro.
We’ve now had time to test the AMD Ryzen 5 7545U mini PC more thoroughly in Windows 11, and we’ll report our experience, including feature testing, benchmark results, 4K and 8K YouTube video playback, 2.5GbE and WiFi 6E network performance evaluation, and cooling performance, as well as fan noise and power consumption measurements.
Software Overview and Feature Testing – GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition
The System > About window confirms we have an A7 computer equipped with a 3.2 GHz (base frequency) AMD Ryzen 5 7545U processor with Radeon 740M graphics, 16 GB of RAM, and 466 GB of storage preloaded with Windows 11 Pro 25H2.

HWiNFO 64 provides additional details about the AMD Ryzen 5 7545U 6-core/12-thread CPU, the motherboard for the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition, and the AMD Radeon 740M integrated into the Ryzen SoC.

GPU-Z offers further details about the 2799 MHz AMD Radeon 740M graphics.

Back in HWiNFO 64, we can check the PL1 and PL2 power limits, which are respectively 35W (PBP) and 40W (MTP), while the AMD Ryzen 5 7545U’s product page lists a 28W default TDP (also shown in HWiNFO 64), and a 15–30W configurable TDP.
As the teardown revealed, we’ll also find a single 16GB DDR5 SO-DIMM memory stick clocked at 2400.0 MHz (DDR5-4800MHz / PC5-38400) from Shenzhen Techwinsemi Technology Twsc.
The Task Manager confirms that only one of the two SODIMM slots is used by a 16GB 4800 MT/s module, of which 4.2GB is reserved for the hardware, mostly the GPU.

The Device Manager shows Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E (MT7922), and a Realtek 2.5GbE controller are all detected.

HWiNFO64 shows additional details about the “RealTek Semiconductor RTL9125 Gaming 2.5GbE Family Ethernet Controller” with a link speed of 2500 Mbps in our testbed.

The MediaTek MT7922 Wi-Fi 6E 160 MHz Wireless LAN card supports up to 2999 Mbps link speed, and our current link speed is 1201 Mbps.
Let’s double-check the Bluetooth version in Device Manager -> MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter Properties -> Advanced, where we can see the firmware version: LMP13.xx. It looks up to Bluetooth 5.4, against Bluetooth 5.2 listed in the specifications on the GEEKOM website.
We took the opportunity to do a quick Bluetooth file transfer test between the mini PC and an Android phone. No problem here.

We tested the three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and the USB4 port using an ORICO M234C3-U4 M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure and the USB 2.0 Type-A port with a Seagate USB 3.0 HDD. HWiNFO 64 and CrystalDiskMark were used to list the reported USB version and speed, and test the actual performance.

All ports work as advertised, but the 10 Gbps ports on the front panel appear to be slightly slower (read speed), possibly because they are implemented through a USB hub.
We further tested the USB4/Thunderbolt port by connecting the Khadas Mind Graphics 2 eGPU to it.

We tested the performance with 3DMark Fire Strike, where the system got 24879 points, much better than the iGPU (see below), but fairly lower than the 30,659 points we measured with the Khadas Mind 2 mini PC using the faster Mind interface. Nonetheless, the USB4 port on the GEEKOM A7 works fine with an eGPU.
The GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition supports up to four independent displays via two HDMI 2.0 ports, and the USB4 and USB 3.2 Type-C ports with DisplayPort Alt mode.

So we connected four displays to it: The 32-inch KTC A32Q8 4K Smart Monitor through the first HDMI port, the 15.6-inch Eazeye Radiant TLCD monitor through the second HDMI port, the 15.6-inch CrowVi portable display through the USB4 port, and the 14-inch CrowView laptop monitor via the remaining USB 3.2 Type-C port.
GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition benchmarks on Windows 11 Pro
Before starting any Windows benchmarks, we set the power mode to “Best performance”. Note that the ambient temperature during testing was 28–29°C, so results may vary compared to other tests at lower temperatures.
Let’s start with PCMark 10.

The GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition scored a total of 6,503 points, broken down as follows: Essentials: 9,179 points, Productivity: 13,684 points, and Digital Content Creation: 5,944 points

The system achieved 2,893 points in the 3DMark Fire Strike 3D graphics benchmark.

In the broader PassMark PerformanceTest 11, the AMD Ryzen 5 7545U mini PC scored 3,686 points, including a fairly high 31665 points in Disk Mark. Let’s run CrystalDiskMark to confirm the excellent drive performance: 5,430 MB/s sequential read speed and 3,281 MB/s sequential write speed.

Cinebench R23 is useful to evaluate single-core and multi-core performance, and get a first feel about cooling performance.

The mini PC achieved 1,724 points in the single-core test and 9,578 points in the multi-core benchmark, with an MP ratio of 5.56x in a 6-core/12-thread processor.
Let’s perform additional GPU testing with the Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0, where the A7 could render the scene at an average of 29.4 FPS and score 742 points at the standard 1920×1080 resolution.

Time to test YouTube 4K and 8K video streaming in Firefox and Chrome web browsers.
YouTube video playback was smooth in Firefox at 4K 30 FPS, 4K 60 FPS, and 8K 30 FPS with almost no dropped frames. However, 8K 60 FPS playback performed poorly with noticeable stuttering. In a 3-minute video, the Stats for Nerds overlay reported 8,975 dropped frames out of 10,531 frames, or an 85.22% drop rate. We suspect a memory bandwidth issue, since the mini PC is fitted with a single SO-DIMM module (single-channel memory).
The experience was similar in Google Chrome. 8K 60 FPS was still unwatchable, albeit with fewer dropped frames: 9,384 dropped frames out of 19,659 (47.73%).
GEEKOM A 7 2026 Edition Windows 11 benchmarks comparison against other mini PCs
Now that we have Windows 11 benchmark results for the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition, we’ll compare the results against other mid-range mini PCs, namely the GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition (AMD Ryzen 5 7530U) and Beelink EQi13 Pro (Intel Core i5-13500H), as well as the GEEKOM A7 (AMD Ryzen 9 7840HS) since it shares the same name…
Let’s have a look at the basic specifications of the four systems first.

The first obvious remark is that the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition is a downgrade from the GEEKOM A7 (2024 Edition), which should not be surprising considering we went from a Ryzen 9 to a Ryzen 5. Apart from that, it performs fairly well against peers, except for 3D graphics as shown in 3DMark Fire Strike and Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmarks, which may have been impacted by using a single SO-DIMM memory (single channel). Adding an extra SO-DIMM module might help here.
In terms of pure CPU performance, the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition mini PC holds well with its AMD Ryzen 5 7545U 6-core CPU against the Beelink EQi13 Pro’s Intel Core i5-13500H 8-core CPU, and overall it looks to offer a better performance/price ratio, unless higher 3D graphics performance is required.
Network performance evaluation (2.5GbE and Wi-Fi 6E)
Let’s first test the 2.5GbE port of the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition mini PC using the iperf3 utility and the UP Xtreme i11 Edge mini PC on the other side.

2.37 Gbps in either direction is excellent, the best we can expect from a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connection.
Time to test 5 GHz WiFi 6 by adding a Xiaomi Mi AX6000 router to the mix.

Excellent results: 1.37 Gbps for download, and 1.09 Gbps for upload. However, it does not tell the full story, as we had some stability issues: after a while, the driver may stop working.
It happened quite often at the beginning, even after rolling back the Wi-Fi driver as recommended by GEEKOM. We also tried various steps in the WiFi troubleshooting guide, and it didn’t help that much.
We eventually opened the mini PC, removed the Wi-Fi module, and put it back, and it seems a little better now. The issue above still happens from time to time, but on some days at least, we can use the mini PC without Wi-Fi problems at all. The reason is unclear, especially since this MT7922 module has been found on other GEEKOM mini PCs, and we didn’t encounter any issues in earlier reviews. We initially suspected interference from the peripherals connected to the USB4 at first, but it doesn’t seem to correlate. A reboot always solves the issue, at least temporarily…
Stress test and thermal performance
We tested the thermal performance of the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition mini PC by running the 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark to monitor the maximum CPU temperature under full CPU+GPU load with HWiNFO64. The highest CPU temperature recorded was 88.8°C, and the utility didn’t report any CPU thermal throttling.

We repeated the test with the Cinebench R23 multi-core benchmark. The CPU temperature reached up to 90.2°C, but again no thermal throttling was detected.
Fan noise
The mini PC’s fan is barely audible when idle or performing light tasks, but it is more noticeable when running heavy loads. We measured the noise with a sound level meter placed 5 cm from the top of the mini PC:
- Idle and light loads – 39.0 – 39.5 dBA
- 3DMark Fire Strike – 47.0 – 53.4 dBA
The sound level meter measures 36.6 – 37.1 dBA in the room when everything is quiet.
GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition power consumption
We measured the power consumption with a wall power meter as follows:
- Power off – 0.9 Watts
- Idle – 4.2 – 6.8 Watts
- Video playback – 15.0 – 17.2 Watts (4Kp60 YouTube video in Firefox)
- Cinebench R23 multi-core
- First few seconds – 45 – 46.5 Watts
- Longer runs – 37.0 – 37.0 Watts
Remark: The mini PC was connected to WiFi 6, an RF dongle for a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, and a KTC A32Q8 4K monitor over HDMI 2.0 during the measurements.
Conclusion
The GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition mini PC mostly performed well on Windows 11 Pro. The AMD Ryzen 5 7545U performed optimally without CPU throttling, and most ports, including USB4, USB 3.2, dual HDMI 2.0, and 2.5GbE, worked as expected and with excellent performance. The system could play YouTube videos up to 4K 60 FPS and 8K 30 FPS smoothly, but 8K 60 FPS videos were unwatchable, with most frames dropped under Firefox or Chrome.
While Wi-Fi 6 was super fast with Gigabit speeds measured using iperf3, the driver would stop working from time to time, requiring a reboot. After rolling back the driver and refitting the module inside the mini PC, the problem mostly went away, but it’s still a concern, especially since the root cause of the issue is unknown, and it may be specific to our sample. This was the main issue we had with the mini PC. Another one is that the computer is only fitted with one SO-DIMM memory stick, and single-channel memory appears to have impacted 3D graphics performance and 8K 60 FPS video playback. Adding a second SO-DIMM module might help.
If we ignore the Wi-Fi issue, the GEEKOM A7 2026 Edition is a well-balanced mini PC in terms of size, performance, connectivity, and power efficiency. It is well-suited for general users, home users, small offices, or anyone looking for a mid-range computer for everyday tasks. The company ships from local warehouses and offers a 30-day return commitment, so if you are impacted by the Wi-Fi issue, the mini PC can also be returned easily.
