TerraMaster F4-425 Pro 4+3 Hybrid NAS is an update of the F4-425 Plus Intel N150 NAS with a more powerful Intel Core 3 N350 “Twin Lake” octa-core processor or Core i3-N305 octa-core “Alder Lake-N” processor.
Apart from the new processors, the new Pro model basically offers the same features with four SATA bays and three M.2 NVMe SSD sockets for storage (hence the 4+3 hybrid moniker), and dual 5GbE networking. It’s equipped with 8GB or 16GB DDR5 memory, and also adds four USB 3.2 ports for peripheral expansion, and an HDMI port for terminal access.

Intel changed the processor naming scheme between the Alder Lake-N and Twin Lake family launches, but the Intel Core 3 N350 should only be marginally faster than the Intel Core i3-N305, as it’s basically a Refresh with very slightly higher CPU and GPU frequencies. The main difference will be the 8GB of RAM on the Core i3-N305 model against 16GB of RAM on the Core 3 N350 variant.
The new models ship with the latest TOS 7 built on top of Linux 6.12, and supporting natural language control through OpenClaw AI. The new TOS release also adds support for Smart ISO mounting (just double-click to open an ISO), a unified recycle bin, per-port bandwidth limits, a revamped notification center, and more. The company also claims that search accuracy improved by 120%, and query speed increased by 10 times for faster file retrieval.
While I never put my hands on the F4-425 Plus, I had the opportunity to review the TerraMaster F2-425 Plus 3+2 Hybrid NAS with TOS 6.0. I set it up with two 4 TB hard drives and one 256 GB NVMe SSD for caching, and I was pretty happy about it, although I noted that “automatic photo/video backup and the AI search function” were “not as smooth as using an online service like Google Photos”. I’m still using the NAS for server backup, photo backup, and general file storage, and maybe TOS 7.0 would help with this, but the NAS won’t automatically update from TOS 6.0 to TOS 7.0, and this must be done manually at this time.
TerraMaster sells the F4-425 Pro for $559.99 (Core i3-N305 + 8GB RAM) and $669.99 (Core 3 N350 + 16GB RAM) on its online store, and you’ll also find both models on Amazon for $699.99 and $799.99. It looks like the prices on the TerraMaster website are a time-limited 20% promotion that’s not currently applied on Amazon. They also launched a giveaway for two F4-425 Pro and two 4TB drives (four winners). The higher-end NAS is probably useful for small teams, but I’m not convinced it provides that much of a benefit for a typical household with two to four people over the earlier F4-425 Plus with an Intel N150 CPU going for $519.99 with 16GB of RAM.
