XIAO nRF54LM20A (Sense) board enables ultra-low-power Bluetooth 6.0, Matter, Thread, Zigbee, or 2.4 GHz proprietary applications

Seeed Studio XIAO nRF54LM20A and XIAO nRF54LM20A Sense are tiny USB-C IoT boards based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54LM20A wireless SoC offering Bluetooth 6.0, Matter, Thread, Zigbee, NFC, Amazon Sidewalk, and 2.4 GHz proprietary connectivity.

Both variants come with on-chip 2 MB flash and 512 KB RAM, as well as an 8 MB flash, an nPM1300 PMIC for power management, up to 28 GPIOs, and an RGB LED. The Sense model adds a digital microphone and 6-axis IMU with motion-triggered wake-up for ultra-low power applications.

Compared to the earlier XIAO nRF54L15 boards, the XIAO nRF54LM20A boards expose more I/Os thanks to alternative through and castellated holes that enable higher pin density while keeping the same XIAO form factor. They also add support for NFC, while keeping BLE 6.0 and Matter/Thread connectivity for low-power IoT, wearables, Matter/Thread devices, and edge applications.

Seeed Studio provides support for Nordic nRF Connect SDK and PlatformIO, both based on Zephyr RTOS, and has also prepared a tutorial to use MicroPython.  They explicitly note that the Arduino IDE is not supported. You’ll find instructions to get started and use features like the microphone, IMU, and low-power modes on the wiki.

The XIAO nRF54LM20A and XIAO nRF54LM20A Sense can be pre-ordered for ~$10 and $16 on AliExpress or the Seeed Studio store, with shipping starting from 15, July, 2026. The boards may eventually become available on the company’s Amazon store. XIAO nRF54LM20B variants, adding an Axon NPU for tinyML applications, are also planned and expected to launch at the end of Q3 2026.
