Tiny Calixto Systems AM62L STAMP SOM targets industrial automation, HMI applications, EV chargers

Calixto Systems has introduced the AM62L STAMP SOM, a tiny (40x40mm) system-on-module around the Texas Instruments AM62L dual-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU running at up to 1.25 GHz, along with an evaluation kit. Designed for embedded Linux applications, the module targets industrial automation, HMIs, EV chargers, and smart retail.

The SoM integrates up to 2GB LPDDR4x RAM and 8GB or 16GB eMMC storage, along with Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 2.0 OTG interfaces, dual SD interfaces, MIPI DSI and parallel RGB display support, McASP audio, and a wide range of industrial I/Os, including CAN FD, eight UARTs, four SPI buses, five I2C buses, ADC, DAC, PWM, GPIO, and a GPMC interface. It also integrates hardware security features such as AES encryption, RSA/ECC acceleration, DRBG, TRNG, and a unique device ID for secure embedded applications.

One surprising thing is that although the SoM supports audio via McASP interfaces and a DAC, the company didn’t expose the audio interfaces on the evaluation board.

On the software side, the company offers a Linux Board Support Package (BSP) built with the Yocto Project. The BSP includes the bootloader, environment variables, Linux kernel, root file systems, and sample application data. Hardware design files for the Evaluation Board are also provided in open-source format to simplify the development of custom carrier boards. The company points customers to their GitHub account, but upon closer inspection, it’s clear that most repositories are empty.

We first covered the AML62x low-power family in December 2025, when we wrote about the tiny Beacon AM62L, which is even smaller than the AM62L STAMP SOM in this article, at just 38x28mm, and exposes I/Os through two high-density B2B connectors. Since then, we also noted the iWave Systems iG-RainboW-G69M OSM Size S (30x30mm) CPU module and the BeagleBadge ePaper page based on the AM62L32 processor.

As with most other industrial products, pricing details for the AM62L STAMP SoM and the evaluation kit have not been publicly disclosed. The company positions the STAMP line as an “affordable, value line” solution. Check out the product page for more details.
