Seeed Studio’s reTerminal Sticky is a 3.97-inch “AI-powered” magnetic touch ePaper display powered by an ESP32-S3 microcontroller, which serves as a sticky-note alternative, an e-reader, a live dashboard, or a home automation controller.
The 800 x 480 resolution display comes with 8MB PSRAM, 32MB Flash, a microSD card slot, and next/previous page buttons. It’s “AI-powered” through a microphone and an AI Voice button leveraging the ESP32-S3 Edge AI capabilities for a voice-to-note feature. It also features a temperature and humidity sensor and a 3-axis accelerometer, as well as a built-in magnet and a magnetic ring for easy mounting.

By default, the reTerminal Stick ships with firmware compatible with the Seeedash app for Android and iOS, mostly designed to facilitate uploading notes to the display, and can also be used to display photos or monitor your AI agent. The company says that only English and Simplified Chinese are supported for now, but they are working on more languages. However, one of the key selling points of the Sticky is its versatility. Seeed Studio highlights support for open-source firmware projects, namely Crosspoint for e-readers, TRMNL for live information dashboards, and ESPHome or OpenDisplay for integration with Home Assistant. I actually mentioned the Seeed Sticky when writing about the CrossPoint-compatible Xteink X4 Pro 4.3-inch touchscreen e-reader last week. I just didn’t realize it was an upcoming device at the time.
Seeed Studio told CNX Software the first 500 units would be available at an early-bird price of US$39.90. Sadly, that email sat in my inbox for a little too long, and the reTerminal Sticky can now be purchased for $49.90. It should eventually become available on the company’s AliExpress store. The hands-on video by Gavin F below mostly goes through the default firmware, and he also tried CrossPoint firmware at the end.
