SupTronics X1208 – A UPS + M.2 NVMe SSD HAT for the Raspberry Pi 5

SupTronics X1208 Raspberry Pi 5 UPS + M.2 HAT

The SupTronics X1208 is a UPS and M.2 NVMe SSD HAT for Raspberry Pi 5 designed to offer fast storage and protect the system against data loss during power outages for Edge Computing, NAS, data logging, and other always-on applications. The HAT draws up to 5V/5A from the USB-C port, which charges a 21700 lithium-ion battery (1.5A) and powers the Raspberry Pi 5 directly through the 40-pin GPIO header, eliminating the need for extra cables. It also features an M.2 M-key NVMe slot supporting 2230/2242/2280 SSDs up to 4TB with PCIe 2.0/3.0 speeds. The UPS supports power switching, auto power-on, safe shutdown on low battery, and GPIO-based power/charging control, along with power loss detection. The X1208 board is also equipped with a Maxim fuel gauge I2C chip for battery voltage and capacity monitoring. SupTronics X1208 UPS + M.2 HAT specifications: Compatibility – Raspberry Pi 5 Model B Storage – M.2 M-key […]

Industrial RS-485/Modbus Raspberry Pi HAT works with OpenPLC, supports 7V-32V DC input

Industrial RS485 Modbus HAT for Raspberry Pi

We have previously written about various industrial Raspberry Pi systems and gateways that come with RS-485 built in, but we had yet to cover a dedicated RS-485 Raspberry Pi HAT. To fill this gap, EngineElectronicAccessories, a developer based in Sweden, has introduced the “Industrial RS485 / Modbus HAT” designed for industrial automation, monitoring, and the OpenPLC open-source PLC suite. The board features an onboard RS-485 transceiver with TVS diode protection and supports long-distance communication over the RS-485 standard. It uses the Pi’s hardware UART interface and includes Tx/Rx LEDs for diagnostics. The board also accepts 7V to 32V DC input, so you can power both the HAT and the Raspberry Pi directly from a standard 24V rail, eliminating the need for a separate USB power supply in a control cabinet. Industrial RS-485/ Modbus HAT specifications: Compatibility – All Raspberry Pi boards with 40-pin GPIO header (Pi 3, Pi 4, Pi […]

Waveshare SATA HAT+ adds two SATA 3.0 ports to Raspberry Pi 5

PCIe TO 2 CH SATA HAT+

Waveshare PCIe TO 2-CH SATA HAT+ is a dual-channel PCIe FFC to SATA 3.0 HAT+ board for the Raspberry Pi 5, which offers a low-cost alternative to the Radxa Penta SATA HAT with support for up to five SATA drives. The HAT+ is compliant with the SATA Gen3 and PCIe Gen2 standards and features onboard dual LED indicators for monitoring drive activity. Additionally, it includes an EEPROM for storing HAT+ ID and product information. It can be used for simpler DIY NAS setups or Pi-based media servers. Waveshare PCIe TO 2-CH SATA HAT+ specification: Compatibility – Designed for Raspberry Pi 5 Storage – Onboard EEPROM for HAT+ ID and product info SATA Ports – 2x SATA 3.0 (6Gbps) channels via JMB582 PCIe Gen3 x1 to 2x SATA controller Host Interface – PCIe Gen3 x1 via 16-pin PCIe FFC connector Misc 40-pin header with exposed RPi GPIOs (not used directly by the HAT, […]

PiSugar3 is a low-cost Raspberry Pi UPS module with RTC, hardware battery protection, and power management features

Pisugar 3 Raspberry Pi UPS module

PiSugar Kitchen’s PiSugar3 is a compact Raspberry Pi UPS module with integrated power management features that make Raspberry Pi Zero boards portable. This new module is an upgraded version of the PiSugar S and PiSugar S Pro, which we previously wrote about. The PiSugar S features a compact 1,200mAh battery for Raspberry Pi Zero, and the PiSugar S Pro comes with a 5,000mAh battery for Raspberry Pi 3/4. The PiSugar3 adds new features to these models with upgrades including an RTC, and a fully functional UPS functionality with customizable wake-up options. It also includes an anti-mistaken touch switch to avoid accidental shutdowns, a software watchdog, and hardware battery protection to extend battery longevity. The UPS module gets attached to the bottom of the Pi and there are pogo pins on the UPS module that deliver the power while the GPIO pins of the Pi remain free for other tasks, on top […]

HiFi-Amped is a Raspberry Pi Audio HAT with dual DACs and class-D amplifiers

HiFi Amped Raspberry Pi Hat

Sonocotta’s HiFi-Amped is a Raspberry Pi Audio HAT designed for Raspberry Pi single-board computers. It features dual PCM5100 DACs and TPA3110 (2x15W @ 8-Ω or 1x 30-W @ 4-Ω) class D amplifiers for high sound quality and power efficiency. Key features of this module include support for both small and large speakers, an external power source to drive speakers and power the Raspberry Pi, and the ability to shut down the amplifiers using GPIO pins for minimal noise when not in use. This makes it ideal for creating a Raspberry Pi-based media center or audio streaming setup. HiFi-Amped specifications: Compatibility – Raspberry Pi 2, 3, 4, 5, Zero, and potentially others with a Raspberry Pi-compatible GPIO header Amplifier – 2x Texas Instruments TPA3110D2 Class-D amplifiers Output Power 4x 10W into 8 ohms @ 13V 4x 15W into 8 ohms @ 16V 2x 30W into 4 ohms @ 16V (bridged mode) […]
