Waveshare 4 inch, spectra 6 color e paper display

Waveshare 4-inch E-ink Spectra 6 full-color e-paper display is designed for the Raspberry Pi

Waveshare recently launched the 4-inch e-Paper HAT+(E), a E-Ink Spectra 6 full-color e-paper module designed to work with the Raspberry Pi using the HAT+ standard. This 600×400 pixel display includes E-Ink Spectra 6 technology and doesn’t have a backlight. The Spectra 6 allows for high contrast and color saturation whereas no backlight means the display consumes very low power. The device communicates using SPI and is compatible with various controller boards like Raspberry Pi and Arduino. These features make this device useful for places like supermarkets, unmanned stores, shelf levels, hospital wards, and more. Waveshare has launched various e-paper displays in the past including the EINK-DISP-103 E-paper HDMI Display, the 4.2″ and 7.5″  Waveshare NFC-powered e-Paper display, and most interestingly the 7-Color e-Paper Display. DASUNG e-Ink Color Monitor

DASUNG introduces the world’s first color E-ink monitor (Crowdfunding)

Just a couple of years ago, we would have laughed at the idea of getting an E-ink monitor, because most displays were still in black and white only, larger displays were prohibitively expensive, and nobody wanted to wait for several seconds to get a full display refresh. But there’s been some good progress in recent years with color displays, faster refresh rate, and prices coming down somewhat which has led to the launch of devices such as the Onyx BOOX Tab Ultra C 10.3-inch color E-Ink Android tablet and a range of color eReaders such as the PocketBook Color. But DASUNG is going further with the launch of the world’s first color E-ink monitor. DASUNG E-Ink color monitor specifications: 23.5-inch color E-ink Kaleido 3 color screen with 3200 x 1800 resolution 4096 colors through DASUNG X-Color Filter “Ultra-fast Turbo Refresh Tech” Optional frontlight and/or curved display (depends on model) Landscape […]

E-Ink Digital Paper Displays

E-Ink Digital Paper Tablet is about the size of an A4 or US Letter paper

While there’s now a bunch of devices with an e-paper display, be it tablets or eReaders, it’s harder to find a model that is about the size of A4 (297 x 210mm) or US letter (279 x 216mm) papers. E-Ink Digitial Paper Tablet solves this issue with an NXP i.MX 8M Mini-powered Android 9 tablet offering a 13.3-inch display (301.1 x 222.8mm), as well as a smaller 10.1-inch display, for business applications. Both digital paper tablets feature E-Ink Carta 1250 screen technology with a higher contrast ratio and faster refresh rate, come with a digital pen supported by Wacom’s battery-free EMR technology, and are said to last about three weeks per charge for light usage. E-ink digital paper tablet specifications: SoC –  NXP i.MX 8M mini quad-core Cortex-A53 processor @ up to 1.8GHz Storage – 32 GB eMMC flash including 24GB for user data, or enough for about 10,000 typical […]
