AMD Ryzen C7, an Arm Cortex-X1/A78/A55 Processor with MediaTek 5G Modem? (Leak)

AMD Ryzen-C7 Arm Cortex-X1 A78

Arm just announced Cortex-A78 and Cortex-X1 CPU cores last week, and we should expect several silicon vendors to announce new SoCs based on the new cores by the end of the year.  But AMD? Yes, according to a now-deleted leak from Slashleaks that lives on Twitter. AMD Ryzen C7 mobile processor would come with two Cortex-X1 based Gaugin_Pro mobile cores, two Cortex-A78 based Gaugin_Mobile cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores, AMD Radeon RDNA 2 mobile GPU, and somehow a MediaTek 5G UltraSave modem joined the party… AMD Ryzen C7 specifications: CPU 2x Gaugin_Pro Mobile Core @ 3.0 GHz (Cortex-X1 based) 2x Gaugin_Mobile Core @ 2.6 GHz (Cortex-A78 based) 4x Arm Cortex-A55 clocked @ 2.0 GHz GPU – AMD Radeon RDNA 2 Mobile with 4x compute units @ 700 Mhz that claims to be 45% faster than Adreno 650 GPU found in Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, and supports real-time hardware ray-tracing and […]

Intel Launches 15W to 125W Comet Lake VPro Processors for Enterprise Customers

Intel Comet Lake Core VPro

Last week, we covered AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 processors with 15W TDP targeting ultra-thin business laptops with PRO features such as security, manageability, reliability, and longevity which are needed by enterprise customers. AMD compared the performance of their new processors to Intel Comet Lake processors without PRO features, but Intel has now just announced several Comet Lake processors with Intel VPro, including three 15W parts aims at the same markets as AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 processors. Liliputing has the full list of the about 40 parts that range from 15W to 125W Comet Lake Core VPro SoCs for mobile and desktop use to Comet Lake Xeon processors for workstations, but I’ll focus on the three 15W processors here: Core i5-10310U quad-core/octa-thread processor @ 1.7 GHz / 4.4 GHz (Turbo) with 6MB cache, 24EU Intel UHD Graphics; TPD down: 10W, TDP up: 25W Core i7-10610U quad-core/octa-thread processor @ 1.8 GHz / […]

NANOTE 7″ 2-in-1 Mini Laptop with Intel Atom X5 Processor to Launch for $185 in Japan

NANOTE

Mini laptops have been a thing for the last 2 or 3 years thanks to companies such as GPD and OneNote. However, most of the models rely on fairly powerful and expensive low-power processors from Comet Lake and Amber Lake families, and that may be fine if you want a versatile, ultra-portable machine as your main driver, but not everybody wants to spend $700-$1,000 on this type of device. In the recent past, we’ve seen a couple of cheaper Intel Cherry Trail mini laptops such as Pretech F700mi and Peakago. But the former does not appear to be for sale, and the latter was offered for $269 and the company decided to upgrade it to an Intel Celeron N4100 processor. Peakago is still not available, as Indiegogo backers are still waiting for their perks. So if you’re looking for an entry-level mini laptop NANOTE appears to be a better option as […]
