A picture which the next Samsung Galaxy S3 has been leaked on the Internet. Phandroid has posted a screenshot of what are being rumored to be the specs of the Galaxy S III. Samsung Unveils New Dual-core Exynos 4212 Processor

Samsung unveiled its new Exynos processor this week at Samsung Mobile Solution Forum 2011 in Taipei, Taiwan. The Exynos 4212 is a dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor clocked up to 1.5 GHz and “will improve processing power by 25 per cent and enhance a device’s 3D abilities by a massive 50 per cent” according to Samsung. The processor will also consume 30 percent less power than its predecessor (Exynos 4210) thanks to Samsung new 32nm HKMG process. Finally the company said that the Exynos 4212 will incorporate a rich portfolio of advanced codec accelerators that support digital still images, video recording and play-back at 1080p full-HD resolution, an image signal processor and an on-chip HDMI 1.4 interface. Tizen: Linux Based OS with HTML5 Application Programming Interfaces

Earlier this week, the Linux Foundation announced yet another new Linux-based open source operating system for mobile and consumer devices based on Web standards called Tizen. This project is backed by Intel and Samsung who have already been involved with Linux based operating systems before, respectively with MeeGo and Bada. Both companies will be part of the technical steering team. It looks like Tizen will replace Meego overtime. Meego developers blasted the move and posted  angry comments especially in relation to Qt support and the fact that all the previous work put into the project has probably gone to waste. My take is that using HTML5 is probably not such a bad ideas as many applications are currently developed in HTML5/Javascript for Chrome Webstore for example, and it could make porting those to Tizen straightforward. OpenCL (Open Computing Language) is a multi-vendor open standard for general-purpose parallel  programming of heterogeneous systems that include CPUs, GPUs and other processors. OpenCL provides a uniform programming environment for software developers to write efficient, portable code for highperformance compute servers, desktop computer systems and handheld devices. OpenCL standard is managed and defined by the Khronos Group. On September 1, at the IFA 2011 in Berlin, Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, probably Samsung Exynos Cortex-A9 processor used in Samsung Galaxy S2. Nobody could have guessed but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 actually features a 7.7″ touchscreen display using Super AMOLED Plus technology (as in Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone), at first for a screen of this size. The resolution is 1280×800 (WXGA). It is almost as thin as Toshiba AT200 tablet with a thickness of 7.89 mm (vs 7.7 mm) and weights only 335 grams. Last week, Skype announced that it is adding video calling support for 17 Android devices that run Gingerbread (Android 2.3).  Previously, mobile video calling with Skype was only available on 4 Android devices namely: HTC Desire S Sony Ericsson Xperia neo Sony Ericsson Xperia pro Google Nexus S. CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones and tablets based on the open-source Android operating system.
