$6.90 Seeeduino Nano Board | Compatible With Arduino Nano

Seeeduino Nano board

Seeed Studio has announced the release of yet another compact  board. The new board, Seeeduino Nano, is quite similar to the Arduino Nano board, and fully compatible. Another thing about the new board is that it has some different features. Seeeduino Nano comes with only one on-board Grove connector, but it can be expanded with the optional Grove shield adding 8 Grove connectors. More precisely, the shield has 3 Grove digital connectors and 3 Grove analog connectors, as well as 1 Grove I2C connector, and 1 Grove UART connector.   Program Code Firstly, the Seeeduino Nano is built around Atmega328P 8-bit AVR microcontroller. This is the same as the Arduino Nano board, meaning you can use the same program code on both boards. There’s no specific Wiki for Seeeduino Nano, but it’s similar, albeit much smaller than the well-documented Seeeduino V4.2. Price of the Seeeduino Nano Board The board is […]

Maixduino SBC Combines RISC-V AI, Arduino Form Factor, and ESP32 Wireless Module

Sipeed Maixduino SBC

Last year RISC-V cores made it into low-cost hardware with neural network and audio accelerator to speed up artificial intelligence workloads at the edge such as object recognition, and speech processing. More precisely, Kendryte K210 dual-core RISC-V processor was found in Sipeed MAIX modules and boards going for $5 and up. Since then a few other variants and kits have been made available including Seeed Studio Grove AI HAT that works connected to a Raspberry Pi or in standalone mode. Seeed Studio has now released another board with Kendryte K210 RISC-V AI processor, but based on Arduino UNO form factor and equipped with an ESP32 module for WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Meet Sipeed Maixduino SBC. Sipeed Maixduino specifications: AI Module – Sipeed M1 with Kendryte K210 dual-core RISC-V processor @ 600 MHz, KPU Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) hardware accelerator, APU audio hardware accelerator, 8 MB general purpose SRAM including 5.9MB […]

Seeed Studio W600 Certified WiFi Module to Support Arduino, Micropython

W600 Certified WiFi Module

Last year, Seeed Studio introduced Air602 WiFi module, a competitor to ESP8266 based on Winner Micro W600 Arm Cortex-M3 microcontroller and selling for $1.90. The module was clearly optimized for cost and size since it offered only a few I/Os, and there was absolutely no mention about FCC or CE certifications. The company has now launched another W600 module, slightly larger to expose more I/Os, and pre-certified to comply with FCC and CE requirements. W600 certified WiFi module is offered standalone, or fitted to “Grove – W600” module for easy connection to Arduino boards. W600 Module Specifications: WiSoC – Winner Micro W600 Arm Cortex-M3 microcontroller with 1MB Flash, RF Transceiver, CMOS PA, BaseBand WiFi Connectivity – 802.11 b/g/n up to 150 Mbps Frequency – 2.4~2.4835 GHz Features – Wi-Fi WMM, WMM-PS, WPA/WPA2, WPS Protocols – TCP, UDP, ICMP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP Access Point and Station modes PCB antenna Expansion – […]

ReButton WiFi Button Features MXCHIP EMW3166 Module

ReButton Azure IoT

We’ve previously covered WiFi buttons based on ESP8266 processor,  but Seeed Studio has just launched ReButton “developer device” that serves the same purpose but features STM32 based MXCHIP EMW3166 WiFi module instead, exposes one I2C grove connector, and is preloaded with sample firmware that triggers Azure IoT Central or Azure IoT Hub. ReButton hardware specifications: MCU module – MXCHIP EMW3166 module including STM32F412 Arm Cortex M4F MCU @ 100 MHz with 256KB SRAM, 1MB+2MB SPI Flash, and Cypress BCM43362 WiFi chip Input – 1x Push button Output – 1x RGB LED Extension – 1x I2C Grove connector (3.3V I/O) Debugging – 1x SWD pads, 1x UART for debugging Misc – 1x Jumper switch Power supply 2x AAA Alkaline batteries (LR03) Internal supply voltage – 3.3V Dimensions – 70 x 70 x 25mm The ReButton comes preloaded with an Arduino sketch that handle key presses and send a trigger to Azure […]

$30 Arch Mix Development Board Features NXP i.MX RT1052 Crossover Processor

Arch Mix

NXP i.MX RT Arm Cortex-M7 crossover processors are supposed to fill the gap between microcontrollers and more powerful application processors thanks to real-time capabilities, and a higher CPU frequency. We’ve already covered several i.MX RT1050 series platforms including NXP’s own evaluation board and Forlinx OK1052-C development kit comprised of a carrier board and an i.MX RT1052 system-on-module. But if you’d like to experiment with NXP i.MX RT processor using a cheaper, smaller, and easier to purchase development platform, Seeed Studio has started to sell Arch Mix development board for $29.90 plus shipping. Arch Mix board specifications: SoC – NXP i.MX RT1052 Arm Cortex-M7 processor @ up to 528MHz System Memory – 32MB SDRAM Storage – Optional 64MB Hyperflash, 8MB QSPI flash, microSD card socket Display I/F – RGB LCD interface USB – 1x micro USB 2.0 host port, 1x USB OTG port for data and power Expansion Headers – 2x […]

Seeeduino Lotus Cortex-M0+ is a $10 Arduino compatible Board with 12 Grove Connectors

Seeeduino Lotus

Grove modules are cool little add-on boards that connect through 4-pin header using UART, I2C, analog or digital I/Os, and usually you’d need to buy a HAT or shield to connect them to respectively Raspberry Pi or Arduino board. But Seeed Studio has come up with a small Arduino compatible board based on Microchip  SAMD21 microcontroller called Seeeduino Lotus Cortex-M0+ that may be the cheapest “Grove” solution around as it sells for just $9.90. Seeeduino Lotus Cortex-M0+ specifications: MCU – Microchip Atmel SAMD21 Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontroller at 48MHz with 256KB Flash and 32KB SRAM as found in Arduino Zero. USB – 1x micro USB port for power and programming Expansion 12x on-board Grove connectors (6x Digital, 3x Analog, 1x UART and 2x I2C) Arduino UNO headers 14x Digital I/O Pins (10 PWM outputs) 6x Analog Inputs I/O pins are 3.3V, do not input more than 3.3V, otherwise the CPU may […]
