Dvico should start shipping the Tvix Xroid A1, its latest Android media player based on Sigma Designs SMP8656 in March 2011 so it will be available for end users in Q2 2011. Dvico is now at CES 2011 to promote their media player TViX HD XROID A1. CES 2011 will be held in Las Vegas 6-9 January 2011 featuring 2700 exhibitors, including manufacturers and service providers for the audio, digital imaging, home theater, wireless, content and gaming markets. Android Remote Control App for Google TV

Google has just released a new app in Android Marketplace to be able to control your Google TV compatible set-top box or TV with your Android Smartphone. It just looks like a normal remote control, but you’ll also be able to use voice recognition to select your channel and videos, select a video on your phone to be played on the TV, etc… I wonder if this will engender family or friend’s wars since several Android phones can be used with one TV. Webtube HD Casing, Hardware and FCC Approval

WebTube HD – one of the first Android set-top box – now commercialized in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Retail price: 249 Euros), just passed FCC approval. The interesting part of the FCC Approval is that we do get the external and internal pictures, so we can get a better look at the hardware. First let’s have a look at Webtube HD Casing. As we already knew, this media player is designed and manufactured by InnoDigital Co. Ltd. Netgem Set-top-box N5000 – Toshiba Places

Mid-september, Netgem showcased their new set-top box at IBC 2010: the Netbox N5000 Internet/TV Adaptor. A modified version of this Set-top box will be used by Toshiba (Toshiba places) and be available for purchase for 99 Euros starting in October 2010 in France and later in 2011 in some other Europeans countries. They’ll either provide Infrared or RF remotes depending on the end customer requirements. The back of the set-top box features TV In/Out, Digital Audio (S/PDIF) output, HDMI output, an Ethernet port and the power jack (+12V).
