u-blox ZED-F20P triple-band GNSS module provides 25Hz RTK/PPP-RTK with centimeter accuracy for drones and robots

The u-blox ZED-F20P is a high-precision, triple-band GNSS module designed for fast-scaling applications, such as drones, ground robots, and other dynamic platforms. It supports L1/L2/L5 bands and delivers centimeter-level accuracy using RTK and PPP-RTK correction methods.

Designed for low power consumption and fast convergence, the ZED-F20P operates at 25 Hz and integrates various security features, making it suitable for lightweight and mobile platforms. It is fully compatible with the existing ZED module footprint and UBX protocol, allowing easy integration and upgrade paths within the ZED portfolio. The module works with the ANN-MB2 all-band antenna and supports u-blox’s PointPerfect Flex and Live correction services, offering rapid, base station–free accuracy in challenging environments. These features make this suitable for applications like robotic lawnmowers and autonomous aerial systems.

The company also provides the EVK-X20P GNSS evaluation kit based on the ZED-X20P module series, such as the ZED-F20P. The kit features a USB Type-C port for power and data, and comes with an all-band active GNSS antenna, breakout cables, and a trial of PointPerfect correction service to get started.

The ZED-F20P GNSS module supports u-blox’s u-center 2 software, a tool for monitoring, logging, visualizing GNSS data in real time, and easy integration with correction services such as PointPerfect Flex and Live. The software also includes an integrated NTRIP client/server for managing RTCM correction streams, enabling use of the ZED-F20P as either a rover or a base station. This robust software support accelerates development, streamlines testing, and provides a smooth path from prototype to deployment for precision positioning applications.

Previously, we have written about the u-blox ZED-X20P, an all-band/quad-band GNSS module with the same footprint as the new ZED-F20P. It’s also compatible with the EVK-X20P evaluation kit and designed for high-precision positioning of drones and robots.

The company has announced that it will begin shipping engineering samples of the ZED-F20P GNSS module this month. More information can be found on the company’s product page and press release.
