Ryzen Embedded Powered Tranquil PC Mini Multi Display PC Features 4x 4K DisplayPort Outputs

The Multi-Display Embedded AMD Ryzen Mini PC Tranquil’s mini multi-display PC (MMDPC) is a fanless workhorse housed in a full aluminum enclosure, running an embedded AMD Ryzen V1605B APU on the Sapphire Tech FS-FP5V motherboard announced in 2018. A Fanless Mini PC The durable housing for the MMDPC is a very artistically designed case that is quiet and functional, offering a back panel I/O that has 4x 4K capable DisplayPort outputs, 2x Ethernet ports, and USB a 3.1 Type C port.  The barebone PC does require your own RAM, M.2 SSD, and operating system. The MMDPC Was Designed for Efficiency and Durability The PC is meant for an industrial environment and is fanless for efficient cooling and durability.  Built to withstand the hazards of industry and the environment, the chassis’s fanless design cuts down on dust, debris, and moisture, which usually affect other industrial mini PCs. The removal of the fan and the use of an SSD means the PC …

TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers Benchmarked on Linux SBCs

TensorFlow Lite microcontrollers benchmark linux SBC

Dimitris Tassopoulos (Dimtass) decided to learn more about machine learning for embedded systems now that the technology is more mature, and wrote a series of five posts documenting his experience with low-end hardware such as STM32 Bluepill board, Arduino UNO, or ESP8266-12E module starting with simple NN examples, before moving to TensorFlow Lite for microcontrollers. Dimitris recently followed up his latest “stupid project” (that’s the name of his blog, not being demeaning here :)) by running and benchmarking TensorFlow Lite for microcontrollers on various Linux SBC. But why? you might ask. Dimitris tried to build tflite C++ API designed for Linux, but found it was hard to build, and no pre-built binary are available except for x86_64. He had no such issues with tflite-micro API, even though it’s really meant for baremetal MCU platforms. Let’s get straight to the results which also include a Ryzen platform, probably a laptop, for reference: SBC Average for 1000 runs  (ms) Ryzen 2700X (this …

ASRock 4×4 Box is a Compact Mini PC Based on AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000/V1000

The mini PC market has a new product from ASRock, a company, well known for its motherboards and Mini PCs. Following up on their iBOX-R1000 Ryzen Embedded R1000 mini PC, the ASRock 4×4 Box is now available with either the AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 processor or the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor in a smaller form factor. Right now, the new mini PC targets the industrial sector, and not the consumer market. This addition to the industrial motherboards and rugged mini PCs line, the 4×4 Box R1000 and V1000 offers more features and are designed to fit in a smaller case, hence the 4×4 name which likely refers to the 4″x4″ dimensions of the motherboard. The AMD Ryzen Embedded is finding its way into all kinds of industrial and medical uses, because of its Radeon VEGA graphics capability and processing enhancements over the R or C series processors. The ASRock 4×4 Box takes full advantage of the Ryzen’s capability with …

AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 powered Atari VCS Game Console is Now up for Pre-order for $249 and up

AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 Game Console

Atari VCS game console had initially been teased with minimal information a few years ago, then delayed, and even when they launched an Indiegogo campaign last year, the specifications were not set in stone, and although we knew the company planned to use an AMD Ryzen processor, the final choice was announced later in April of this year: AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 processor. Indiegogo backers should get their console in December 2019, but if you’re prudent with your own money, you may have preferred to wait, it’s now possible to get Atari VCS in March 2020 by pre-ordering it now for $249 and up from Walmart, Gamestop, or Atari’s own website. There will be two model with Atari VCS 800 and Atari VCS 400 sharing many of the same (preliminary) specifications except for the RAM capacity: SoC – AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 dual-core / quad-thread processor with VEGA 3 graphics System Memory VCS 400 – 4GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable) VCS …
