USB4 docking station supports up to five 4K displays with 120 Hz refresh rate

Action Star Technology, a Taiwanese OEM/ODM of USB productivity solutions part of Qisda (BenQ group), has unveiled its USB4 penta-4K120 docking station at Computex 2023 with support for up to five 4K displays at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The docking station is based on Synaptics chips, and besides support for up to five 4K displays, it can also handle up to three 8K displays at 60+ Hz, and offers Ethernet, audio, and 10 Gbps USB 3.2 interfaces. BenQ W1700 / HT2550 4K HDR Projector Now Available for $1,499

We wrote about BenQ W1700 4K HDR projector a couple of months ago, as the announced retail price of 1,699 Euros including VAT would make it the most affordable “True 4K” video projector on the market. The projector was scheduled to launch in January, and the company is right on schedule with Benq HT2550 (US model name for W1700) now listed on Amazon for $1,499 with shipping expected on January 14, 2018. BenQ W1700 4K HDR Video Projector to Sell for Less than $2,000

But what about 4K projectors? We first find out about development in this space with a demo for Texas Instruments 4K DLP chip in January 2016 at CES. Close to the end of that year, I had another look while writing about a $70,000 Canon 4K projector based on laser technology, and found out the cheapest true 4K projector would sell for around $10,000. I did not pay to much attention to 4K projectors this year, but I’ve been informed that Benq has come up with an affordable 4K HDR projector: W1700 / HT2550 (US) that will start selling for 1,599 Euros including VAT (around $1,885 US) next January.
