Radxa Rock Lite Board Price Drops to $39

When the new Radxa Rock Lite was announced for $59 in September 2014, it was one of the most inexpensive quad core ARM Linux development board available on the market. But ODROID-C1 board in December 2014, and especially Raspberry Pi 2 board in February 2015 changed all that, as these two quad core boards sell for $35 before shipping and taxes. So the company has now decided to drop the price to $39 for the Radxa Rock Lite board. Let’s remind us of Radxa Rock Lite specifications: SoC – Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad core @ 1.6Ghz + Mali-400 MP4 GPU System Memory – 1GB DDR3 @ 800Mhz Storage – micro-SD SDXC up to 128GB Video Output – HDMI 1.4 up to 1080p@60hz, and AV output. Giveaway Week – Freescale SABRE Lite Development Board

Here’s a development board for a change. Freescale SABRE Lite is a board powered by Freescale i.MX 6Quad processor that I got during a giveaway organized on Element14…  It’s a great board for Linux development thanks to the extensive documentation released by Freescale. After writing a short unboxing and quick start guide post, I planned to try a few more things on the board, but as I ended up owning Wandboard Dual and Quad boards, the mbest made board ended up collecting dust, so it’s much better to give it to somebody who certainly make good use of it. The box will have most items shown above, except the serial NULL cable  which I keep for other experiments. The rules are the same as usual, simply leave a comment below to enter the draw. Other rules are as follows: Only one entry per contest. I will filter out entries with […]

ARM Cortex M0+ Based Arduino Zero Pro Board Gets Listed on Arduino.org

A new “Arduino Zero Pro” board has been listed on Arduino.org, which looks very similar to the Arduino Zero board announced last year, with Atmel ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex M0+ MCU, and that is still listed as “Coming Soon” on Arduino.cc website. So it feels a little odd Arduino would release a board with basically the same features. Arduino Zero Pro key specifications are indeed exactly the same: Microcontroller – Atmel ATSAMD21G18 32-bit ARM Cortex M0+ MCU @ 48 MHz with 32 KB SRAM, 256 KB flash, up to 16KB EEPROM (By emulation). 48-pin LQFP package.
