Rikomagic DS04 is a new 4K digital signage player running Android 14 on a Rockchip RK3576 octa-core Cortex-A72/A53 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It looks to be a cost-down version of the Rockchip RK3588-powered Rikomagic DS08 8K digital signage player with many of the same ports and features, including two 4K-capable HDMI 2.1 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jack, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, optional 4G LTE, and a few USB ports. NVIDIA Jetson gets fanless solid-state cooling module

YPlasma has showcased its ultrathin solid-state cooling module based on dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuators on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano at Computex 2026. Ultrathin solid-state cooling solutions replacing thicker and noisier mechanical fans have been demonstrated on consumer hardware in the past, with solutions such as xMEMS µCooling fan-on-a-chip for SSDs and Frore Systems Airjet Mini and Airjet Pro used in laptops and mini PCs. Both solutions generate tiny vibrations to create an airflow, but YPlasma’s DBD plasma cooling module generates ionic wind to cool the device. This forces convection without moving parts, audible noise, vibration, or dust ingestion paths. We’ll explain more about the technology below. ODROID-H5 SBC Review – Part 1: Unboxing, Type1 case assembly, and first boot

Hardkernel has sent me a kit with the ODROID-H5 10GbE SBC for review. In addition to the Intel Core i3-300 board itself, the kit also comes with an ODROID-H5 Type-1 case, an M.2 card for a second 10 Gbps Ethernet port, and other accessories. I’ll start the review with an unboxing, my experience assembling the kit, and first boot using an M.2 NVMe SSD with Ubuntu 24.04 and Windows 11 in a dual-boot configuration. In a few weeks, I’ll continue the review after upgrading to Ubuntu 26.04 and perform thorough testing of all features and performance. Review of Rikomagic DS08 Android 13 digital signage player

Rikomagic has sent me a sample of their DS08 digital signage player for review. It’s based on a Rockchip RK3588 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB eMMC flash, and offers two HDMI 2.1 ports, gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, as well as several USB ports, optical S/PDIF audio output, and more. I was initially not sure I could receive a sample, as Thailand is pretty strict with licenses for this type of hardware, but Rikomagic told us that it would not be a problem when using DDP (delivered duty paid), and the courier handles all paperwork. And indeed we did receive the parcel without issue. Since Rockchip RK3588 is now a mature platform, we won’t run benchmarks in this review, but instead go through an unboxing and a teardown, and focus on digital signage features such as video playback, RTC support, and display orientation […]
