Sonoff G1 AC Powered Smart Power Switch Works Over 2G GSM/GPRS

Today, I’ve searched for AC powered wireless switched similar to Sonoff devices, but with ESP32 instead in order to get WiFi and Bluetooth, since the latter is better to use with a battery powered buttons. I did find a DC powered board, but no AC powered ones yet. However, as I visited ITEAD website to check if they had anything of the sort, I discovered they had a new model called Sonoff G1, similar to Sonoff TH16, but instead of using WiFi, you can use 2G GSM/GPRS to control the switch remotely. Sonoff G1 specifications: Wireless Module – ST86 quad band GSM/GPRS module GSM/GPRS connectivity GSM850, EGSM900, DCS1800 and PCS1900 MHz support GPRS multi-slot class 10, GPRS mobile station class B 1.8V, 3V  SIM card slot Transmit power: Class 4 (2W): GSM850, EGSM900; Class 1 (1W): DCS1800, PCS1900 Relay – Up to 16A (3000 Watts max) Terminals – 6 terminals […]

RTU-5025 GSM Relay Controller Supports Up to 64 Phone Numbers

We’ve already seem boxed WiFi and Bluetooth wireless relays that can be used to turn on and off appliances using a smartphones or web applications, but I’ve just been made aware that GSM relay controllers such as RTU 5025 could also be a good options since they allow for authentication using the mobile number, can be used with any phone, not only smartphones, and don’t cost anything to operate, beside the eventual maintenance cost of the SIM card inside the device, since the relay does not actually answer calls. It can also send an SMS to the owner each time the relay is activated, in which case the cost of SMS might have to be considered. RTU 5025 specifications and key features: Connectivity – GSM PHASE 2/2+@ 850/900/1800/1900 MHz with SIM card slot + GSM antenna Output Relay – 3A/240V Rated Voltage – 12V/1A Working Temperature – -10 to 60 […]

BPI-GSM Arduino Compatible Board Integrates a GSM & GPS Module, Sensors and an OLED Display

Banana Pi team has come up with another board, but this time it does not run Linux or Android, as they’ve made an Arduino compatible board called BPI-GSM based on Atmel ATmega2560 MCU with a light sensor, DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor, and a GSM/GRPS & GPS module powered by a LiPo battery. BPI-GSM board specifications: MCU – Atmel ATmega2560 8-bit AVR MCU @ 16 MHz with 256 KB flash, 8KB SRAM, 4KB EEPROM Connectivity – Simcom SIM808 GSM, GPRS, and GPS module + SIM card slot + Sensors – DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor, light sensor Display – OLED display Expansion headers – 54x digital I/O (including 14x PWM), 16x analog input, 4x UART. Max DC current per I/O: 40 mA. Misc – Reset button, LEDs Power Supply 5V via micro USB port 3.7V LiPo battery (2,500 mAh battery included in kit) Dimensions – TBD The board can be […]
