Raspberry Pi CM5 industrial carrier board features dual Ethernet, optional 4G LTE/5G cellular connectivity, metal case, and more

Waveshare CM5-DUAL-ETH-4G/5G-BASE is an industrial carrier board for the Raspberry Pi CM5. It features dual Ethernet (GbE + 2.5GbE), 4G/5G options, and includes an optional metal enclosure, active cooling fan, and power supply, which is an upgrade from the previous CM5-DUAL-ETH-BASE carrier board. The board also offers two HDMI outputs supporting 4K displays, two MIPI DSI/CSI connectors for displays and/or cameras, two USB 3.2 ports, a 40-pin GPIO header, M.2 slots for both NVMe SSDs and 4G/5G modules, and PoE support via an add-on module. The board supports 7V–36V DC input, a PWM fan header, and RTC battery backup, with precise cutouts and labeled connectors for easy integration. Its main benefits over the CM5-DUAL-ETH-BASE are its more compact size and neatly arranged ports on the rear panels, while adding optional support for 4G LTE or 5G connectivity. Waveshare has recently introduced ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-3.49, an ESP32-S3-based wide touch display (640×172) development board for HMI and AI voice applications such as handhelds, smart panels, meters, kiosks, and small IoT dashboards. The device comes in two variants, where Case A supports a single 18650 lithium battery and Case B is designed for a 3.7V Li-Po battery. Both models integrate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, dual microphones with echo cancellation, speaker output, IMU, RTC, microSD card for storage, USB-C for power and programming, and there are also expansion pads for interactive touch, audio, and sensor-based applications. Raspberry Pi CM5 carrier board supports dual Ethernet (1GbE + 2.5GbE) and wide 7V–36V DC input

Waveshare’s CM5-DUAL-ETH-BASE is a carrier board for the Raspberry Pi CM5, featuring dual Ethernet (1GbE + 2.5GbE), two 4K HDMI outputs, two MIPI CSI/DSI interfaces, and more. It supports NVMe SSDs or AI accelerators via an M.2 slot, offers USB 3.2/2.0 ports, a 40-pin GPIO header, and a wide 7V–36V DC input, making it ideal for industrial networking and edge computing applications. Waveshare has just released the CM5-NANO-B, a compact Raspberry Pi CM5 carrier board, with the same dimensions as the Compute Module 5 and multiple peripheral interfaces making it suitable for industrial automation, IoT, embedded computing, AI development, and other space-constrained applications. Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.8 is an ESP32-S3 development board with an AMOLED display and AI audio support fully housed in a plastic enclosure. The most interesting feature of this devkit is its 1.8-inch AMOLED display with a 100000:1 contrast ratio and a wide 178° viewing angle, plus support for AI speech using its built-in microphone and speaker, and a built-in battery for IoT and AI applications. Other features include a QMI8658 6-axis IMU for motion detection, a PCF85063 RTC for time, and an ES8311 audio codec for high-quality audio. PiSugar Kitchen’s PiSugar3 is a compact Raspberry Pi UPS module with integrated power management features that make Raspberry Pi Zero boards portable. This new module is an upgraded version of the PiSugar S and PiSugar S Pro, which we previously wrote about. The PiSugar S features a compact 1,200mAh battery for Raspberry Pi Zero, and the PiSugar S Pro comes with a 5,000mAh battery for Raspberry Pi 3/4. The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) was launched at the end of last month, and we are starting to see companies slowly announce upgraded CM4 designs.
