Ronetix launches NXP i.MX93 SoMs in SMARC and OSM-L form factors

Austrian embedded equipment manufacturer, Ronetix, has released two i.MX93 system-on-modules (SoMs): the RNX-iMX93-OSM that follows the Open Standard Module (OSM) form factor, and the RNX-iMX93-SMARC compliant with the SMARC 2.1 (smart mobility architecture) standard. Ronetix i.MX93 SoMs are powered by the NXP i.MX93 processor featuring a 64-bit dual-core Arm Cortex-A55 application processor running at 1.7GHz and a Cortex-M33 core running at 250MHz for low-latency and real-time tasks. The SoC supports up to 2GB LPDDR4 RAM and 512GB eMMC storage, and the integrated Arm Ethos-U65 microNPU offers up to 0.5 TOPS of computing power for machine vision applications and intelligent energy management (IEM). Applicable for industrial automation and IoT, the SoMs also feature two CAN and Ethernet interfaces to aid high-speed data transfer. AAEON BOXER-8645AI is an embedded AI system powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin that features eight GMSL2 connectors working with e-con Systems’ NileCAM25 Full HD global shutter GMSL2 color cameras with up to 15-meter long cables. Modular IoT hardware developer, M5Stack, has released a new programmable robot base based on the STM32F030F4 microcontroller with LEGO and Arduino compatibility. The M5Stack BugC2 is “compatible with the M5StickC series controllers,” and includes the ESP32-powered M5StickC Plus2 development kit in the package. It features an L9110S four-way motor driver for all-directional operation, two programmable RGB LEDs, an infrared encoder, and a 16340 rechargeable Li-ion battery holder. Renesas AIK-RA4E1 and AIK-RA6M3 are two new development boards based on RA-series 32-bit microcontrollers. These new dev boards have multiple reconfigurable connectivity functions to accelerate AI and ML design and development time. Both boards appear similar, but the AIK-RA4E1 uses the R7FA4E110D2CFM MCU, features three Pmod ports, and has no Ethernet support. On the other hand, the AIK-RA6M3 utilizes the R7FA6M3AH3CFC MCU, has six Pmod ports, and includes Ethernet support. Both the boards support full-speed USB and CAN bus. Shenzhen MilkV Technology’s Duo S is a tiny SBC based on the 1 GHz Sophgo SG2000 Arm Cortex-A53 and RISC-V SoC with 512MB DDR3 (SiP), Fast Ethernet, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5 connectivity, and a switch to select Arm or RISC-V architecture before powering the board. We already had covered SG2002 Arm/RISC-V boards with 256MB RAM, namely the LicheeRV Nano and Duo 256M, but for people needing more memory, the Duo S provides another option that also features two 2-lane MIPI CSI connectors, a USB 2.0 host port, and two 26-pin headers for expansion.
