Support Us

If you’ve landed on this page because as a European user you’d decided to decline data collection on this site as part of the new GDPR regulations. That’s fine, but that also means programmatic ads, even ones considered safe and non-intrusive such as Google Adsense will be blocked, and income for this website will drop. If you’d like to reconsider your choice, you can click this link to opt-in to data collection:

If you don’t change you mind, it’s still possible to support this blog through some free and easy ways:
  1. Comment on posts
If you have a question, correction or comment about a particular post, fire away and write in the comment section. That makes the blog more interesting and interactive, and may help bring more traffic.
  2. Find a post interesting? Don’t hesitate to share it on social sites.
I’ve uncovered a few stories that made it to Slashdot or Hacker News, unfortunately those did not link directly to this blog, but to some better known sites that linked to cnx-software.com.
Whether you are on Facebook, twitter or Google+, just share a story if you find it interesting, and even more importantly, if you are a visitor of Hacker News, Slashdot, Reddit and other technical sites, and think a story is worth a mention there, share away!
  3. Follow the blog on social networks. Follow cnxsoft on  Twitter, like cnxsoft on Facebook or circle me on G+.
  4. Buy through this blog
I’ve joined several affiliate programs with sites that sell gadgets or development boards & components, so if you are a regular visitor, and/or one of my post saved you a lot of time, and need to buy something (and it can be anything, e.g. clothes, books…), you could consider buying via links from my website to one of the following merchants:
  5. Share a Tutorial / How-to Post on cnx-software.com
You have one of the device featured on this site, and have done some pretty cool stuff with it. Don’t hesitate to share what you’ve done via the “Contact Us” page above. If I think other people will find it interesting I’ll feature it on cnx-software.com and give credit to your name or alias, unless you wish to remain anonymous.

Finally, you could also supports by giving a monthly donation through Patreon, or a one time donation via PayPal.

Use Coinbase or Bitpay as merchant account providers.

As far as I know, and I think I know something about Bitcoin, You can generate as many addresses as you want, and safely publish them anywhere you want. Bitcoin encourages to generate separate address for every single payment, to stay anonymous in Bitcoin network. Otherwise someone can check how much money did you get, since every payment is saved and available to see for every member of the network.

Have I done well on commenting? 🙂

I would have liked this better, if it would not use a ad-space to advertise for this page. Just put it in sidebar, do not use the ad-like format.

Do I have to buy specific products or just click those links?

I bookmarked this page the idea is to click your links to open amazon or aliexpress, don’t know if it works that way?

Thanks.

Hi,

Maybe it’s just me but at first glance I thought you were referring only to embedded products. I think you should post that to item #4 above.

Thanks.

I use Ghostery, as I am not anti-ad, but rather anti-tracking. That some (but not all) ads are blocked is just a side-effect of this.

That said, I am happy to share any articles that take my fancy 🙂

Just disabled Ad-Block and tried to click original link to your page, but still got this page whining about ad-block, confused…

I use Privacy badger. It allows non tracking ads to display. I have no beef with advertising as long as it A. does not track me and B. is not intrusive. Otherwise, too bad your privacy invading ads are blocked in my browser.

No adblocker but tracking blocked in Firefox 42. All ads / sponsors that do no track are displayed but your adblocker sign shows up already when you enable the Firefox function in normal mode (on by default in privacy mode).

Thanks for your nice blog.
Is there a way to use the AliExpress referal link together with the mobile app? The mobile app often has better prices.

Can you can disparage people that use ad-block but can you guarantee malware will not be served-up by YOUR ad company??? If you can guarantee this I will turn my ad-blocker. Have a nice day….

I’m totally OK with Google Ads, but i don’t know any other of the advertisers in the endless “partner list”. was it even supposed to show them, or is this some sort of catch-all opt in?

What a reasonable ‘please don’t use block cookies from a bunch of companies you can’t trust with your privacy’ post.

…and so you shouldn’t use or allow any of them. If I as a user do not know who I am consenting to drop cookies and track me then it is unlawful and you are facilitating it. Google Adsense and programmatic ads included.
