Everything Presence Lite ESP32-based mmWave presence sensor tracks up to three targets simultaneously

Designed by Everything Smart Home, the Everything Presence Lite is a compact, ESP32-based mmWave presence sensor designed to be easily integrated with Home Assistant open-source home automation framework via ESPHome firmware.

This sensor features a 24GHz mmWave sensor designed to track up to three targets simultaneously with real-time distance, speed, and positional data (X, Y coordinates). It supports dynamic zone customization, ambient light sensing using a BH1750 sensor, and acts as a Bluetooth proxy to extend Home Assistant’s Bluetooth range. The sensor comes in an injection-molded case, and the company also provides 3D-printable STL files, which you can customize according to your needs. Key applications include human presence detection, smart lighting automation, home security zone monitoring, HVAC efficiency control, fall detection for the elderly, and much more.

In terms of software and tools, this ESP32-based mmWave presence sensor has support for ESPHome firmware for Home Assistant integration. Users can configure dynamic detection zones, track multiple targets, and monitor ambient light via Home Assistant’s UI. Additionally, the ESP32 module also functions as a Bluetooth proxy to extend Home Assistant’s Bluetooth range. The sensor also supports over-the-air (OTA), and developers can flash or configure the device using the ESPHome Dashboard, CLI, or esphome-flasher. More information, including full documentation and example configurations, can be found on the relevant GitHub repository and an online user manual.

Seed Studio Everything Presence Lite Hardware Overview
Everything Presence Lite sensor hardware overview

Previously, we have written about various human presence sensors like the SONOFF SNZB-06P, designed to detect human presence using a 5.8GHz microwave radar, eMotion Ultra 60GHz mmWave radar presence sensor, and Seeed Studio’s ESP32-C6-powered 60GHz mmWave human fall detection and breathing/heartbeat detection sensor kits. Another alternative was NOVELDA’s low-power ultra-wideband (UWB) radar presence sensor with a power consumption of under 100 µW and designed to operate on two AAA batteries for up to four years. The main advantage of these reader sensors is that they can detect stationary persons, since this type of sensor can detect breathing.

Everything Presence Lite can be pre-ordered on Seeed Studio’s store for $39, with a bulk discount of $35 each for orders of 10 or more. Shipping is expected to start on May 17, 2025, and each package will include a fully assembled device and a white right-angle braided USB-C cable.
