ASUS PRIME N100I-D D4 is a fanless mini-ITX motherboard based on the Intel Processor N100 quad-core “Alder Lake-N” processor with up to 16GB DDR4, M.2 NVME SSD and SATA storage, and three video outputs via HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA ports. The motherboard also comes with a Gigabit Ethernet port, six USB 3.2/2.0 ports, a COM port, and a 3.5mm audio jacks combo with Line In, Line Out, and Microphone input, plus a PS/2 connector, and a 24-pin ATX connector for power. NVIDIA has recently introduced the Jetson AGX Orin Industrial module that comes with an extended temperature range, operating lifetime, shock and vibration specifications, as well as support for error correction code (ECC) memory, and delivers up to 248 TOPS of AI performance with power configurable between 15-75 W. The industrial-grade system-on-module is based on the Jetson AGX Orin 64GB module but with lower operating frequencies to enable a longer operating lifetime and improved endurance. It’s form-factor and pin-compatible with Jetson AGX Orin, and NVIDIA says it delivers more than eight times the AI performance of the 30 TOPS Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial introduced in 2021, but does not integrate Cortex-R5F cores. We’ve just written about Realtek 5 Gbps Ethernet chips, but the company also has some roadmaps for WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 router chips, and a WiFi 7 client module demonstrated at COMPUTEX 2023. I only upgraded my local network to 2.5 Gbps Ethernet last year, but 5 Gbps Ethernet is soon coming to the home as shown by Realtek at COMPUTEX 2023 with demonstrations of their RTL816, RTL8157, and RTL8251B 5GbE chips that were initially unveiled at CES 2022. The RTL8126-CG is a PCIe 3.0 x1 to 5GbE controller offered in a QFN56 8x8mm package that succeeds the RTL8125 chips, the RTL8157-CG is a USB 3.2 Gen2 to 5Gbps Ethernet controller in a 8x8mm QFN68 package providing an update the RTL8156(B)/(BG) 2.5GbE USB controllers, and the RTL8251B-CG is a single-port “PHYceiver” in a 8x8mm QFM56 package. eEver Technology, a subsidiary of eTron Technology, has launched the EJ523D 4Kp60 audio and video capture and streaming processor with a USB 3.2 interface, along with a reference platform currently showcased at COMPUTEX 2023. ECS is better known for its LIVA mini PCs and x86 motherboards, but ECSIPC unveiled a 3.5-inch SBC powered by Rockchip RK3568 Arm SoC at Embedded World 2023. However, when I asked for photos or detailed specifications at the time, I was told by a company representative no further details were available. Action Star Technology, a Taiwanese OEM/ODM of USB productivity solutions part of Qisda (BenQ group), has unveiled its USB4 penta-4K120 docking station at Computex 2023 with support for up to five 4K displays at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. ZOTAC PI430AJ Pico is the first mini PC equipped with (two) Airjet solid-state active cooling chips introduced at CES 2023, doing without the metal case required by typical fanless systems, and instead relying on a plastic case. The PI430AJ Pico is powered by a recent 7W Intel Core i3-N300 octa-core Alder Lake-N processor coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and an M.2 NVMe SSD up to 1TB capacity.
