Zidoo M6 Arm mini PC review – Part 1: Unboxing and Teardown

I’ve just received my first Rockchip RK3566 platform with Zidoo M6 Arm mini PC that supports Ubuntu 18.04, Android 11, and Station OS. I was sent the standard version with 4GB RAM and 32GB eMMC flash that will be suitable for most applications. I’ll start Zidoo M6 review with an unboxing and a teardown to check the hardware design and “hidden” features before reviewing with the device with Android 11 and/or Ubuntu 18.04. Intel Atom x5-Z8350 mini PC sells for $88.90 shipped

More Intel Atom x5-Z8350 hardware is being discounted with Unisound T7 II mini PC selling for $88.90 including shipping, which follows last month’s Atom x5-Z8350 single board computers sold for $50 to $64. As we’ll see below, the mini PC’s specifications are similar to the ones for the SBC’s, but the advantage here is that you’ll get an enclosure, a power supply, and an HDMI cable, plus the usual mostly useless user manual and warranty card. Beelink LZX – A Zhaoxin KX-6640MA based x86 Mini PC you may never see

Beyond Intel and AMD, there are other x86 processors in the wild from DM&P and Zhaoxin. We’ve written about the latter in a QNAP NAS earlier this year, but now it turns out there’s also a Zhaxin-based mini PC with Beelink LZX based on a Zhaoxin KX-6640MA quad-core x86 processor that showed up on Shopee Indonesia for 3.86 million Indonesian Rupiahs, or about $270 US. Pantera Pico PC ultra-compact mini PC ships with Windows 10 or Ubuntu (Crowdfunding)

The Pantera Pico PC is an ultra-compact Gemini Lake Refresh mini computer similar to the Chuwi Larkbox Pro, that was supposed to launch in December 2020 through an Indiegogo campaign.
